Toddlers: 24 Months+

napping 28 months

currently our 2 year old daughter sleeps from 8 or 830 until 6 or 630. She used to be a solid sleeper, since the triplets came home, there was a change in Nanny, etc, it has been not as great. The triplets are now 11 months and sleep 10 to 11 hours at night straight. Grace has continued to wake up during the night, but now comes and gets my husband and goes right back to sleep. She used to scream so this is an improvement.my question is really about napping. She nap 115 to 130 until 3 and then I wake her up if she is not up. How long is your almost two and half year old sleeping for nAps?
for what it's worth, she is constant energy. I do have to lay down with her for an Nap to go to sleep and then sneak out after 10 minutes.this was new toO, but she has had a lot of change in her little life.

No periods due to 17 years of ballet and distance running after college.  Zero response to 2 months of Clomid, little response to Letrozole.  IUI left with 9 cysts = too many viable eggs due to age.  On to IVF.  Low dose of all meds still produced 37 mature eggs 12.6.11.  Froze due to overstimulation.

FET #1.1 1.22.12 BFN.   FET #1.2 2.22.12=GRACE! (and a vanishing twin).

From 2.5 +, DD only naps at daycare for about 1 hour to 1.5 hours if she is really tired. When she's home with us on the weekends, we don't do naps anymore because I find it too hard to get her to sleep at night if she does.

DS is almost 3 and naps for 2-3 hours. We never let him sleep past 4pm.

Are you concerned or just wondering what other people do?

  • My son naps about an hour and a half each afternoon, but he sleeps about an hour or two longer than yours at night. I would never wake him up from a nap unless the house was on fire.
  • My Dd stopped napping at 2.5 and currently sleeps 7:15-6:15. The rare days when she does nap it takes her forever to fall asleep ( like after 9pm). She really only naps like 1-2x a month.

  • My daughter sleeps 7:30pm-7:30am. It's probably more like 8-7 because she's usually talking to herself to sleep or hanging out awhile before she calls us. At school she naps around an hour and a half. At home she sometimes naps longer. She is go, go, go anytime she is awake so I think that's why she sleeps well (this was not always the case and she was kind of a nightmare until she started going to daycare at 9 months). My son napped until after he turned 4 and the only reason he stopped is because he was staying up late and I didn't let him take naps anymore.

Is there a reason you wake her up? Like will she stay up to late otherwise? Just curious.

Best of luck with everything. I can't imagine having a 2 year old and triplets. You're certainly a busy momma.

  • I wake her bc she seems to sleep better during the night. I've only been letting her nap an hr 15 min and sometimes she sleeps through the night:) !!
