Hello fellow bumpers! I am new to this, and my husband and I are TTC. I have recently gotten my nexplanon removed and I'm worried about the after affects.. Has anyone else been on this, and if so how long did it take you to finally conceive? Any advice would be most appreciated!
I had my implanon removed May 2014 and we have been "passively" trying ever since (I've been tracking with an app, but not with temp or anything) I just had an HSG done and started tracking my ovulation with clear blue. They say your fertility comes back within days of removal. Probably not the answer you were looking for, but thought I'd share! Good luck and baby dust to all!
I actually don't have that much of a problem with a thread being resurrected purely for discussion sake among new members (and not responding to old comment by members who aren't here) so that's fine. But the thing is everyone's fertility is SO DIFFERENT and our stories will not be helpful to you.
Like I have been off birth control since 2014 and I'm still trying. But that's not very helpful to you because I have PCOS and you (hopefully) don't.
I don't understand, I guess? I read the newbie threads, saw how people were flamed for starting new threads. I can't really join a two week wait thread or some of the other ones as I'm not using opks yet or tracking temps. I thought searching and asking if there were others who came off of nexplanon and wanted to chat more about experiences was totally fine and within guidelines...?
@cathyann4 I'm not scolding you or telling you what to do. I'm telling you that someone saying they got pregnant immediately, or someone saying they took 2 years isn't going to change your path and won't tell you how long it will take you. Which is what I am guessing you are wondering to yourself, which is totally normal.
I also want to point out that the vast majority of this board are trying for their first baby, so most of us can't tell you how long it took us because we aren't there yet.
Alrighty, I had hoped that the welcome I saw others get while I was waiting to post was a fluke and people would be much nicer, but my mistake, I'll go ahead and move on. Best of luck ladies!
I was never on Nexplanon, but I have been on some form of hormonal birth control (pills, then IUD, then pills) for about 14 years. But I'm currently in my third month of TTC.
From what I've read though, it shouldn't really do much of anything in regards to your fertility. Is there something that's making you question or worry about your experience specifically?
@antoto - I guess I like having the questions in the CS/Q thread, but you're right in that resurrecting some old threads for new discussion is harmless! @cathyann4 - The literature on nexplanon days your fertility can come back right away after removal. It took me 4 weeks after removal to ovulate for the first time and then I had a super short LP.

@JennyColada responded to that affect 1) her experience is a little different from yours, but cool and 2) she is not yet ku so can't tell you how long it took her to conceive and even if she could, it would have no bearing on how long it may take you, or anyone else to conceive.
Not sure what part of this whole exchange you found not to be "nice"??? But uh.... okay? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/1b/mbzr4se8e7i7.gif" alt="">
I guess the very initial post with the zombie meme. I was just expecting this to be like a board I was apart of when I was TTc before, and it's not. I never said I was flamed, just that the general atmosphere I have found from lurking and this post is kind of territorial and unwelcoming toward newbies. I appreciated the polite responses, have a great day ladies.
@cathyann4 - Sorry for the offensive zombie gif. Can we start over and try again? I wasn't trying to mean, I was just confused about where this thread came from and who was replying to it, but I can see that it made you feel unwelcome. We were all new once and these ladies are awesome!

@cathyann4 we pretty much always post a zombie gif when someone raises an old thread from the dead. I think you took that way more personally than it actually was meant to be.
And for what it's worth - for any newbies reading this - there are always a few people who don't temp/opk (although we strongly encourage them to do so) moving through the daily TWW/WTO threads. You take your best guess, usually based on cervical fluid.
Some were very polite, others were not. @pebbledam thank you, I think I'll stick with lurking and just searching the boards for previous posts when my curiosity gets the best of me

We're not going to beg you to post here. If you're looking for a different atmosphere, follow your bliss. If you had been lurking as long as you imply you have, or had followed the advice in the newbie guide instead of reading it to check the box, you would know that: 1. Most of us are TTC #1 so personal experience of success after a very specific birth control is going to be limited. 2. My body and her body and hers and hers and hers are all not yours so while there may be some similarities, we're not going to encourage the notion that experiences are going to be just the same. You might be pregnant in five minutes or you might not. 3. That newbies who do their due diligence and act with intent to actually contribute to this community are welcomed with open arms. I'm not going to call any of them out but we have a number of newbies who would disagree with your assessment.
If you want to roll with it and join the WTO/TWW other threads, cool. There's no rule that you have to be temping and using OPKs or you'll be run out on a rail. But like I said, we have a hopping happy community. We're not going to beg you to join.

TTGP is an awesome community full of fun, hilarious, and honest women. It's had it's ups and downs as a community, but overall it's been fucking great. Don't knock these chicks until you take the time to actually get to know them. Even if you only lurk. You'd be surprised how quickly you can get vested in someone's journey when you're only lurking.
I totally understand some people freaking out and doing a GBCB when they get certain responses, because, if you don't lurk, you don't know to expect it. But in your case - totally unwarranted. A zombie gif is pretty freaking tame, all things considered. Because yes, this is a zombie thread. I can agree that some things are worth having their own thread or having a discussion on, but "how quickly did you conceive" is not one of those things, IMO.
If you had asked "how long until you were regulated" or "how long until you ovulated" or "what negative effects did you experience"? Sure, even though our experiences are our own, it's sometimes nice to hear that someone else didn't ovulate for 4 weeks, and also had a short LP (looking at you @pebbledam!), or that they went through the same negative side effects of down-regulating that you are. Just for some normalcy. But this was not that. You wanted to know how quickly we conceived. Which, is not helpful to anyone.
So, to answer your question, because I like to ramble a lot, and I'm also still slightly hungover from MIL's wedding yesterday: I had my Nexplanon removed in August of 2015. It took me 3.5-ish weeks to ovulate after removal, and my LP was, I believe 5 days long? So, super short. My cycles after that were like clockwork. O on CD 10, AF on CD 24. I didn't get pregnant those 4-or-so months we TTC before we had to TTA for school. I also didn't get pregnant the cycle I wasn't on BC because I had to switch, and we didn't use condoms. So that's my story of how quickly I didn't conceive. Did that help?
