I will be drinking whiskey and ginger this weekend. Sunday we celebrate my moms "life day". 6 years ago she had surgery on a hemorraging brain aneurysm. She was given a 1% chance of a full recovery. It was one of the worst times of my life. She was put in a coma and then three weeks in the hospital but she was alive. Well she has had an almost full recovery. The only thing that isn't 100% is her short term memory. She tends to tell us the same thing 4 or 5 times. But it's fun to tease her about it. So every year we celebrate her life day. She is thankful to still be here and able to enjoy her children and grandchildren.
Friends are in town for the weekend and I am very excited to have a Moscow Mule or two during dinner. (Vodka/ginger beer/splash of bitters/half a lime on ice preferably in a copper mug but I'm not picky)
P.S.-Hooligans4 I think celebrating your mom's recovery is adorable!
@hooligans4 I love that story about your moms life day! That's awesome. We should all be so lucky to recognize how precious our lives are and celebrate them.
Imagined drink: wine! This weekend we are spending time with my husbands family. We had a funeral service for his mom yesterday. Just hanging out and spending time with the fam.
