I got my quad screen results today and everything for downs etc was normal, my ABP was just under normal (which tests for neural tube defects?) I guess normal is 270, mine was 230.

They are sending me to MFM for my 20 week ultrasound.  My DR said if these were her personal results she wouldn't be worried.  Of course I am still worried.

She also said since I have had several ultrasounds she thinks they would've seen a problem if there were something wrong with the skull etc.

I guess I am just looking for some advice and input and for someone to tell me not to worry!  I'm overly used to bad phone calls and I am of course spinning this one in my mind as a bad phone call.

I'm not familiar with ABP test, and Google is no help to me.  Sorry.

I can say that when your doctor tells you not to worry, then you should try your best to follow her advice.  It's easier said than done, but getting stressed about it won't help you or your LO.  I can also say that I've seen a number of people on this board have troublesome indicators through one test, but were later able to confirm that the issues did not exist through subsequent testing.

This is such a tough time.  Is there any follow up testing you can do to put your mind at ease?  ((hugs))

I have a consult w mfm Tuesday so hopefully they can check things out and clarify to us. I checked and it was the test for neural tube defects that came back just under normal so that's stressful but hopefully it will turn out to be nothing. I feel like it's always something

I agree with @AMShark‌ . Try not to worry . Much easier said than done! But still good advice

I know y were really worried about the results. Fwiw, my sister had a 'very abnormal' ABP and went on to have a very healthy baby with no defects whatsoever. She's always said she'd never take the test again because the results just unecessarily scare you. I'm sure your doc is right and it's nothing to worry about. But, ugh, the wait til the u/s is gonna suck. We will be here to entertain y in the meantime;-)
