Webster technique

Well, baby is still breech and is measuring large so I've been doing spinning babies exercises with no luck.  I've also tried the hot and cold packs.  Now I'm going to a chiropractor who is certified in the Webster technique.  Does anyone have an experience with the Webster technique or turning a breech baby with chiropractic care that they can share?

Re: Webster technique

  • I did the Webster technique twice a week at the end of my first pregnancy in combination with acupuncture with moxibustion. My son kept switching from breech to head down. He finally turned head down at 39w2d, 5 days before my schedule c-section. He was 8lbs7oz at birth. You still have time. Best of luck!

  • I don't but good luck!! Mine was breech and just found it this week it finally turned!! My only encouragement is keep doing excersises and I watched a lot of YouTube videos that discussed it! Good luck!!
  • I just found out today that mine is breech also. Silly girl has been in position since week 17. She decides to flip now.
  • I'm 33 weeks and just started Webster with a chiropractor. I had two sonograms prior, both of which showed the baby was breech and during my 32 week OB visit, the doctor stated the baby was still breech. Considering that few babies haven't turned by this point, I decided to try Webster based on info I found online.

At my first visit, only one side of my pelvis was adjusted which made me feel imbalanced. However, the chiropractor said this was due to the strain of bearing more weight by the properly aligned hip. It did go away the next day and my pelvis felt more loose. After my second visit, I haven't noticed anything but am hoping my OB will be able to tell the baby's position next week during my appointment. I know it may take several visits to be effective and only time will tell... I just want to do what I can to avoid c-section although I am a little skeptical. The baby may turn or not so I am hoping this is not wasted money.
  • My hip was bothering me before I started with the adjustments and it did make my nerve pain go away.  My hips are still sore though.  I'm hoping with a few more visits, at least that will change.  FX for all of us!

  • I was told at my 33 week appointment yesterday baby girl is breech. She said I can start looking into spinningbabies.com as we have a 50/50 chance of her moving. I'm
Scheduled in two weeks to go back so totally panicking/ I really do not want a c-section- i delivered twins vaginally and twin b was breech. I can do this- but they wouldn't let me. If she hasn't turned by 36 they will try to turn her :(
  • My LO is also still breech at 35 weeks. Due to PIH I can't do a lot of the spinning babies exercises. My OB said we will try a version in 2 weeks if there's no change.

I haven't done the Webster technique but I've never been to a chiropractor.
  • Well, after doing spinning babies exercises for 3 weeks and one appointment with a chiropractor on the Webster Technique, hot and cold packs as recommended by Spinning babies and baby has turned!  Not sure what did it, but I'll take it.  Now just hoping baby doesn't turn back.

  • Bump- seeing how our breech baby mommas are doing? First chiro apt tomorrow and next doctors next Monday. Fingers and toes crossed!
  • I did it with my second starting at 32 weeks. I don't know if the technique helped her turn, or if she would have done it on her own anyway.

  • I went to the chiropractor twice and th en found out my baby was no longer breech. I just hope he/she doesn't decide to turn again.
  • Acupuncture can help as well. I am doing that and chiropractor. I will have to try spinning babies.
