Breathing Moniters — The Bump
Parenting after a Loss

Breathing Moniters

I lost my first son to SIDS last year and am expecting a new baby this August. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with breathing moniters and if they made you more paranoid or feel more secure.

Re: Breathing Moniters

  • Yes I lost Zachary in 2012 from SIDS / Daycare accident.
With our twins, I used Halo monitors for 16 months.
I slept better knowing an alarm even if false would give me some sort of peace of mind.

We lost our daughter to SIDS in 2013 and are expecting a baby boy April 29th. We have been debating whether to get the movement monitors or not. I am scared that with the false alarms it would cause more pain and fear then peace of mind. I have always heard that if it really is SIDS then there is no stoping it even if you were to get there "in time". Still undecided.
