Hi all,

We are only a handful of people left here, wow! 

I am trying to stay calm. I am 5w6d pregnant today and no complications but blood work and u/s showed some problems. My DH and I drove from Nashville to Chicago last week to see Dr. Kwak-Kim and do her special doppler u/s. We saw one gestational sac and the yolk sac so that's good but the blood flow to the embryo os not at the ideal level. She wants to see me again next week.

I also gave tons of blood. Results are not very encouraging though. My cytokines are very elevated, which means that my body is fighting with the embryo. We are doing our best though to keep this pregnancy: IVIG, prednisone, good diet, acupuncture etc. so hopefully all these will help. I am on pins and needles every day and my dreams are crazy as you can imagine. I hope this baby sticks! 

I am having my first u/s tomorrow at my RE's office. I hope that the embryo is growing nicely.

QOTW: Nothing really helps me these days in terms of keeping me sane. I am an anxious ball but watching TV helps and I knit.

Early miscarriage #3 happening now. At least this one wasn't long and drawn out. Meeting with the doctor on Monday to discuss next steps. It will be my first fresh cycle in four years. I wonder what has changed? I forget everything and now I'm almost 40.

@zeynsom I'm sending so many thoughts and prayers your way for you and your baby.

@BostonGayGal I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I know that you weren't very optimistic, so I think it is especially unfair that you are going through another loss. I'm sending thoughts and prayers to you for comfort and answers. I hope your meeting with your doctor is productive.

@zeynsom I too am sending Ts&Ps your way.  Hopefully things will turn around in a week!!!

@BostonGayGal I am so sorry for you .  

AFM I have ET tomorrow at 11.  They were able to retrieve 12 eggs, and of those 12, they were able to successfully fertilize 7.  However, we only have 5 left right now.  UGH....I am hoping that we have at least one high grade embie left.  That is all I want.  We will find out tomorrow I guess.  It is always the wait.  I am happy that ET is on a Friday....I have no plans to do anything all weekend.  DH has a list of funny movies for us to watch.  

QOTD:  I watch ridiculous reality TV shows.

berries555 five is still really good. FX that most of them are champs and that you have a terrific ET tomorrow. How many are you planning to transfer? (I'm thinking positive that you'll have more than one great one for ET.)

I realized that I forgot to post my update. I had b/w this morning to check to see if I've ovulated and can start the Lupron for the "Stop Lupron" protocol and even though this is CD 20, O did not show in my b/w. I was so optimistic, because last month, I had O'd by day 19, but then AF was early and that's what I think messed everything up with that IVF cycle, since I wasn't on EPP for long enough before stimming. I go back on Monday, but I'm worried that even if they do detect that I ovulated and I get the go-ahead to start the Lupron, I will have AF at my normal time (or maybe even early again, damn that bitch) and that will set me up for another bad cycle since I won't have had enough suppression.

I'm very frustrated with my body. I'm trying to be so healthy with my diet and exercise and follow all the ISWTE recommendations and it is just deciding to do whatever it wants regarding ovulation and periods. My RE did say that if my period was early again, he wanted us to wait another cycle, but I also know he is thinking we should just give natural cycle a try and I would really, really like to have CCS if I can get enough embryos to make testing worthwhile. I originally thought I would only do it if I had four or more, but now I'm thinking if I could just get three, I would go for testing.

QOTW: Over the last several months I've been making a habit of trying to "seek joy" so I'm trying to only read and watch light-hearted entertainment and I think that has been helping me stay sane.

@berries555 How was the transfer? You are PUPO now! 

@Carol77B I hope your body cooperates and you can start this cycle. I hate that IF is a big waiting game!
