Work so frustrating!

So as some of you may know I am the assistant produce manager and have been okay to do lifting without any restrictions until 24 weeks which is two weeks from today. Work doesn't seem to get that I will eventually need to not be doing as much and I'm not sure really how to get this point across.  My HR just came back from maternity leave but is going on vacation next week so I can't really talk to her yet. But I was really frustrated today and just need to get this out. I have two siblings who work under me and can't seem to be bothered to clean up after them selves but the older sister is friends with the store manager and when I speak my frustrations it falls on deaf ears. Today I spent 3 hours scrubbing only a section of my backroom where they cut fruit and have now done way too much and my body is not happy with me but my manager doesn't seem to care. I'm at a loss as to what to do because I really need this job at least through my maternity leave. Any advice?

  • I don't know your company set up, but you have every right to keep yourself and your baby safe in pregnancy.

You arrange a meeting with that dickhead manager of yours.. Does this your manager have a manager as well? You could invite both to be present.

The other thing is to write an email to HR manager stating your concerns. You need to start stacking up your evidence.

No job sacks a pregnant woman and gets away with it. U fine their ass.

    Don't be intimidated.

  • Agree with @chiudo‌. It is our respresponsibility to protect our babies, work won't reach out to offer that assistance. Sorry you're not getting the support you need.
  • How awful!! I can't even climb up a ladder at work without people offering to help me... You should be treated the same way! Please please set up a meeting with your boss and lay down the law. Just because you have a smile on your face and aren't complaining all the time doesn't mean you're not going through a pregnancy. You're growing a human being inside you! Maybe your boss just doesn't realize how you're feeling?

    Good luck!
