Ultrasound at 12 weeks

Hi I would so appreciate it if Atleast 1 person could look at my picture I got today of my baby at 12 weeks 2 days..the tech didn't say anything but I am wondering if these black spots are normal because I am freaking out and can't sleep..I don't see the dr till next week. I'm going to compare this picture to my other kid's but did anyone else see these spots? Thanks so much..really!

  • I have no idea what spots you are talking about. In any case, nobody here is going,to have better information for you than your doctor. Just wait until you go back in and ask.

  • My MIL is an U/S tech, and I was concerned also because she said that black spots were fluid.. In the head of the baby there were black spots so I was like, is t not developing or what?! She said that is not the case at all, it's just shadows from the reflections of the ultrasounds.

That may or may not be the case, I don't know.  When I had to go back for a second u/s she showed me how and why I was seeing those spots, and they did go away depending on how she was scanning or how baby was laying, ect.

Either way the best person to tell you anything is your dr.

  • Are you serious with the dr comments?? This is my 3rd baby..I know, just like anyone else that my dr is the one to trust and tell me what's up. However I don't see the dr till next Thursday so I was hoping other people would maybe say, "our ultrasound looked like that and it was fine." There is a black circle behind the eyes in the pic and another smaller one. Geez! Just looking for support!

I think your response is unfair to the folks that gave you sound advice.

Even if we could read the ultrasound & "everything was fine" for us-- that really doesn't mean your situation will be the same.

It's not wise for us to give fluffy, feel-good advice just to make you feel better. We could be telling you "everything is fine" & it's not. That would make me feel awful to give that kind of false hope.

Most likely it's nothing to worry about-- but I'm not sure. Please consult your doctor if you are worried because they can give you the most reliable answers. That's not lacking in support.

That is actually extremely supportive. We want you to get the most accurate advice from a trained professional. If we run our mouths & we are wrong, wouldn't you feel like we lied to you? Wouldn't it make the situation worse?

I genuinely hope it's nothing & everything is fine. Please open your mind & see that those giving you advice to ask your doctor are not trying to be rude or mean. They are trying to look out for you.
