First (and maybe second) period after baby

Hey ladies. I'm mostly a lurker but was looking for anyone with similar experiences. My daughter will be 6 months on Friday and is exclusively breastfeeding. About 3 weeks ago I got what i assumed was my period. I had spotting on and off for days. I even called and spoke with nurse at my dr office for advice. She said it was likely just my period trying to return and was totally normal. It seems it had returned but was very light almost just spotting and only lasted a couple of days. Well here I am a few weeks later and once again have some spotting/blood when I go to the bathroom. Is it normal to have another this close to the first? Any similar experiences?
