Irregular periods while BF

Hi all, I am currently breastfeeding my 8 month old daughter. She is still waking up to eat at night 2-3x. 30 days ago, I had my first pp period. My cycles are normally very short 24-27 days apart and I am very regular. Can  you gals share with me how breastfeeding affected your cycles? Has anyone else had a first pp cycle and then 'skipped' one? I can't think of a clearer way to phrase this question. Basically what I'm asking is are irregular periods normal while breastfeeding?

Very normal to be irregular and have them be a whole different kind of period than you're used to. Some women even out after awhile and some don't until they've completely weaned.

I never even had a period for well past the first year. When it returned with my second child it was incredibly irregular. It would come one month then not the next couple. This time when it returned it seems to be regular. Yes, irregular periods can be perfectly normal while breastfeeding.
