  • Congratulations!!!

I'd like to be added.  I can take over the check-ins, as well.  EDD 5/2 with a girl - I'm 28w4d today.

This week has been pretty good!  Last weekend I was sick with a lot of pain by my stomach.  The nurse was thinking the baby was just pushing on my gall bladder too much.  But then the OB called to check on me yesterday and freaked me out a little, saying that if I had another pain and puking fest like I did Friday/Saturday to let them know b/c I may need my gall bladder taken out.  Seems a little extreme?   Although i think I saw someone here or on Facebook a few months ago who had it taken out.  I felt her move a lot Sunday morning and have felt so much better this week, that I don't think it'll come to that - just hoping it was her pushing on it too much.

QOTW: I've thought about signing up for a meal plan for 4 weeks or so, but it can get pricey.  I may just stock up on pasta and other items that are easy for DH to cook and have a lot of left overs.

  • Hey ladies! I'm so sorry I've been mia. I was induced on January 25, had 32 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing, and then the OB wouldn't let me continue. Baby's heart rate dropped a few times thru labor, and she was stuck behind my pelvic bone. So, I had a c section. Ava was born January 27th. After 3 trips to the nicu (fluid and breathing, extremely low blood sugar, then a blown vein from an iv), we finally were able to come home. Ava is having some health issues, we go to the children's hospital tomorrow to see an endo, her thyroid is hypo like mine,so we are having to give her medication. My poor baby has had Dr appointments, blood work, and poked every day since she has been born. I'm a mess over it, and BF has been a struggle as well (she had her frenulum cut last week). However, through it all, I'm amazed at this life we created and were so very blessed with. I'm SO in love with our little lady!

I will definitely keep lurking here for updates on everyone.
@gsancho‌ sorry you're in pain. Pregnancy can bring on gallstones so worth an ultrasound at least. Good luck!
    Married 2007
    3 Clomid IUIs -- BFNs
IVF #1 never made it to transfer
    On "egg health" cocktail DHEA/CoQ10/FRC/Pregnitude/Melatonin
Starting IVF #2 for Feb 2013
    Follistim/Menopur/Ganirelix
Cancelled mid-cycle due to high P4 levels early on.
OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled
On indefinite hold until a huge stroke of serendipity led me to IVF 3 May 2014
Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!

@gsancho - I'm sorry you're not feeling well.  I would definitely follow up on @ecarabeo217 's recommendation, and bring up the possibility of gall stones with your doc.

@weansworld09 - You're getting so close to the end, but you sound super prepared.  And, are you saying you *made* hot pockets to freeze?  If so, I'm not sure whether to ask for the recipe, or just ask what your rates are to hire you to stock my freezer.

AFM: I'm 29w1d today - less than 1 week to another round of steroids. Woo Hoo!!!  Choppin' away at that NICU time with every day. Both babies are measuring well, and estimated at about 2lbs 9oz each as of Sunday.  I'm still leaking pink fluid - I think that's just gonna continue until the end at this point.  As long as I'm not passing large amounts of blood, it seems like this is ok.
I feel fine, but my bladder is getting smaller & smaller - or maybe baby girl and baby boy are taking turns leaning on it.  Oh well, lean away - as long as you stay put for at least another week - preferably 4.

QOTW:  Ah yes, freezer meals - another thing on my list of things that I'll never get done.  I was planning on making a few casserole dishes, soups and biscuits to freeze.  (Has anyone ever frozen biscuits?  Ever since I saw it on the King Arthur website, I've been obsessed with it).  Yeah, so I was planning on packing my freezer, starting after Christmas, but I opted instead to sit on my ass in this here hospital for months on end.
Part of me thought I could squeeze out some freezer meals during the NICU time, but yesterday, one of my old roommates dropped by, after visiting her own LO in NICU.  She said, the whole time you're on bed rest, you can't wait to get the 'flip outta here and go home, but once your baby's in NICU, you never want to leave, and you spend as much time as possible at the hospital.
So, maybe I'll just stock up on bags of steamable veggies, and those individual frozen fish and chicken breast you can get at Sam's club, and call myself prepared.

  • @amshark- part of the reason I asked about freezer meals is because I never quite got around to doing all that I wanted to (I'm a bit of a procrastinator and figured he'd be late.. babies make their own plans!). We do have a bunch of frozen pizzas, though, so that's something. I think your plan sounds a-ok!

  • Wow, congratulations to all the new parents!!!

I'm 34 weeks, still feeling good.

No freezer meals... sadly, just about all I know how to make is Kraft Dinner. And my spouse doesn't like to cook (though he's good at it when he does). But there is an awesome caterer I know who sells healthy frozen meals, so I'll probably pick up a bunch at some point.
  • Congrats @mamarazzi007 !

@AMShark‌ I did make my own hot pockets! I can't take credit for the recipe though. I found it on happymoneysaver blog when j was googling for recipes. I made pizza ones and broccoli chicken & cheese ones. I did the haul over 3 days, 1 day shopping and 2 cooking. I had some serious aches and pains after the end of the cooking days.

I agree! So many babies this week! Woo! Pop some champagne <:-P

  • @AMShark we did freeze biscuits once.  They came out ok.  Not as buttery and flaky when defrosted, but still good.  Oh my goodness, we spent 14 hours at the hospital yesterday with some issues DH was having...you are a saint - how do you not complain?!?  I was Whiney McWhinerson those last few hours, just sitting with him.

And they have him on a strict diet now to help with some digestive problems, which will also be good for me if I am indeed having gall bladder issues.  The pain I get hasn't been as bad lately, but I'll ask the OB about an ultrasound if the discomfort doesn't go away - or do I need to ask my general doctor about it, instead of my OB?

  • Hi ladies! I would like to join! We are due May 4th with a little boy.

I am 28 weeks and 4 days and time seems to be going so fast. I am now going every two weeks and Monday they said he weighed in around 2lb 15oz. So since I barely passed my 3 hour test they want to watch how big he gets. Other than that I feel pretty good most days just getting uncomfortable sometimes and having trouble sleeping.

I hope to get some freezer meals together but I can't promise that will happen. So I am not real sure what our food plan will be other than winging it.
