I just went back to work and I am pumping 3-4x/day. I nurse my son around 530 and then for a few minutes at 645 to try and 'top him off'. I then pump between 830 and 3, which is my cutoff so I can feed around 530-6. I'm wondering if my output is average; I get about 8oz. I pump at night to get the extra milk needed for day care.
Right now I pump about 8 oz between 9A-3P. I just got over the stomach flu which left me really dehydrated and unable to get out of bed and pump for 24 hours. My supply took a hit. Before the illness I would pump about 11 oz between 9A-3P. My supply is slowly increasing back to where it was. Thankfully my LO is 10 months old and only drinks 9 oz when we are apart. Before LO started solids she drank 10 oz. I have heard pumping output of 1 oz/hour is standard.
I pump first thing in the morning, either before or after I nurse LO. He goes to DC at 8am, and I pump two more times before I get home at 5:30pm. That usually nets me 12-14oz. LO drinks 12 oz while at DC.
