Girl name...help!

edited February 2015 in Baby Names
We have a William Andrew and a Clara Elizabeth. We just found out today that we are expecting another girl. So my question is...we both like Cora. But is it too similar to Clara? Any other suggestions to go with William and Clara?

ETA: We aren't necessarily looking for another C name. Oh and our last same is one syllable so a lot of one syllable first names don't sound right to me.

@erinkaym‌ I'm afraid that might rhyme with our last name. Thanks for the idea though!

We also have a short, one syllable last name, and have the same thoughts as you with the first name. Love your sibling names. Congratulations and best wishes!

I LOVE Nora!! It's actually my first choice personally. I will tell my DH that it was suggested on here and that may change help change his mind! Also I'm likinh Rosalie! Great suggestions! Thanks everybody!
  • Too close! I am not a fan of alliterative names unless you go all the way and make them all alliterative (though that can be tricky and too cutesy).

Non C-names I feel are similar in style to Cora or would fit with your sibset:

Nora (although I still feel it is too close to Clara)
    Lucy
    Ruby
    Hazel
    Bonnie
    Margot

  • I think they're too close but love the suggestion of Nora!!!

  • I like a lot of these suggestions! I think I'm going to double up my efforts on Nora. We still have about 4 months so no huge rush!
  • Nora sounds really cute with Clara. Maybe your husband will come around!
