• 37w pregnant and getting excited and anxious to meet this little one. Heart burn hasn't been as bad lately which could be because the OB told me that she has dropped. Also while they did the GBS test they checked and I am slightly dilated. I am trying not to get to excited because I know you can stall at any stage of dilation for weeks. People at work have been saying you can see it in my face that I am ready to go. I am not sure what they are referring too. I have my official 37w check-up on Wednesday. After weekly appointments since September it is so weird looking at my appointment cards and knowing that there are only 3 more scheduled. WHAT!!When did that happen.

QOTW: I am excited to be able to sleep on my stomach again as well as enjoy a glass of wine (or two).

• @mrs&mrsK Ohh no more heartburn I want to add that to what I am looking forward to also. Being able to eat at night without throwing it up or laying in bed awake regretting my decision to eat something.

• You two are getting so close!!

12W3D here. Feeling pretty good. I sang in 2 choral concerts over the weekend and the only thing that bothered me was my feet. That is good news. My breath support even seemed decent. The major thing on my mind right now is getting our Verifi test results back. We've held off sharing our news with just about anyone (family included) until we pass that milestone. Well, my inlaws are coming in to town on Thursday and we're going to need to share (can't really hide it anymore). So I really hope we have that peace of mind by then.

NT scan went well, no reasons for concern based solely on that. And the tech had a guess of sex for us - Boy! We'll know for sure with the Verifi results, but she was pretty detailed in her explanation of why she guessed boy, and showed us on the screen. Exciting! Looks like S may get her wish again.

This may sound weird, but I'm really looking forward to being squarely in the next phase of our life. This will absolutely be our last baby. Until now I haven't felt completely comfortable making plans for our future because things were just so uncertain. But now we will have clear direction, and I'm excited about that. I'm also REALLY looking forward to reading to my 2 kiddos every night. Lately G has been insisting upon sitting NEXT to me during story time rather than in my lap, so I will have plenty of room for both.

Also, wine.

• Just got diagnosed with mild preclampsia yesterday as BPs have been a little high (127/90 & 140/88) and they did find increased protein in my 24 hour urine collection. I have a follow up on Wednesday and Doc want to induce Friday 2/13, which means we are probably getting a Valentine's Day baby! I will be 37w2d, so doc is happy I made it to full term. Went to a maternal fetal specialist and had a really thorough sono done and baby girl is measuring great! 6 lbs and was extremely active. I guess this is happening sooner than expected!! Overall i feel really good. No other symptoms other than some mild swelling of my feet if I don't elevate. I am officially done with work as doc has me on bed rest. I am actually more ok with it than I thought...gives some time for last minute cleaning, organizing, and completing the checklist! I just cannot believe that she will be here in less than a week! #surreal

• Pregnancy is going well! So anxious for our ultrasound on March 4th! After a number of weeks of the "why am I not gaining much weight" questions HELLO lol 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Our surrogate is so excited to start showing (more than the, "oh hunny, did you have too much for lunch?" stage) haha. She is feeling good and everthing is going well... pregnancywise... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

For me on the other hand... the worries have set it... BIG time! Like at ulcer-brewing levels. The constant questions and self-doubt is both uncharacteristic and a little paralyzing. Am I going to be a good Father? Am I going to do everything right? Are we really ready for this? Child Care?????? Where the heck is all this money going to come from? Two horror-inducing words... Diaper aisle!!! How many diapers can possibly exist?!?!?! 4 babies-r-us aisles dedicated to diapers!!!! 19584351891 choices of different bottles with every one being "closest to the breast" and "the greatest thing since sliced bread" ... and the birth plan!!! OH GOD THE BIRTH PLAN!!!! So overwhelming!

So that's where my head has been spinning for the last few weeks. At the end of the day, and in my heart-of-hearts, I know we are ready, I know I'm not going to do everything right and that's ok, We will find the perfect diaper... or heck just buy one of each! lol, The money will work out, and we will come up with the perfect birth plan (and forget half of it during delivery haha), and our world will be instantly changed for the better as soon as I look into my son or daughter's eyes for the first time. Everything will be ok... it will be a heck of a lot of work... but it will be ok... now my next task is to make myself actually believe all that ;)

Isn't it good to know that you're a totally normal parent-to-be with totally normal anxiety and excitement? Wait, you didn't know that? Let me tell you, you are.

This made me laugh, in the best possible way. I'm laughing WITH you. Here are some answers:
Am I going to be a good Father?
Yes, if you are dedicated, eager to learn, and patient with both the baby and yourself, you will be a GREAT father.

Am I going to do everything right?
NO. You're not. Period.

Are we really ready for this?
No. I don't see how anyone possible ever could be. But you'll figure it out.

Child Care?????? Where the heck is all this money going to come from?
Yeah so, I want to be reassuring here ... you will figure it out. But don't slack on this one. Do your homework and do your visits/interviews and ask the hard questions and then it WILL all work out. As for money, just be really realistic. Try to live on your future budget for a few months before the baby is born so it's not a big shock to your lifestyle when the bills actually hit (plus you'll have a bit of a financial cushion for the unexpected).

Two horror-inducing words... Diaper aisle!!! How many diapers can possibly exist?!?!?!
Tons. Like, millions it seems. Honestly? Try the cheapest ones first, and buy a small quantity. If those don't work, move up. All kids are different and their needs are different. This one is trial and error (hopefully not too much error).

19584351891 choices of different bottles with every one being "closest to the breast" and "the greatest thing since sliced bread"
Yeah, so, again every kid is different. Your baby will let you know which bottle they prefer and it might not be the one you expect. Buy 1/ea of a few different kids. They will tell you, I promise. Then they will change their mind. :)

As for the birth plan, yeah good luck with that. Just put your heart into it and then try to be realistic in the moment.

Good luck! I've enjoyed reading your story!

• @amber&reva and Mrs&MrsK and MrsT11!!!! You guys are so close to meeting those babies. Thoughts are with all of you.

@JGY-I know waiting for those Verifi test results can be agony. Hang in there and update us when you know more!

@kevinandjesse-I just love that you have joined us and the above post is EVERYTHING that each of us have thought. Sounds like you're thinking and feeling exactly what you should be at this point!

We're 30 weeks and just waiting for this little boy to join our lives. I've started slowing down and getting uncomfortable over the last week. And, if that wasn't enough, now I am battling a little cold and a bum knee (from falling in the grocery store parking lot). So, imagine a loud breathing, hobbling, uncomfortable creature..NOT lovely!

But, on the bright side;) we had our first shower/luncheon this past weekend. We are relatively new to our neighborhood and about 10 of the girls decided to have a get together for us. We're in a very suburban area of Atlanta, so were unsure how the "2 chicks" would be received, but we have been overwhelmed at the outpouring of support and friendship. We are also 90% finished with Tanner's nursery and we're happy with how it has turned out.

Good luck to all of the families that are expecting babies soon. And, Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

• @jgy and @JennaandBetsy - thank you so much for being so reassuring and for the great tips. I'm so glad we can all laugh together :)

- ohhh pregnancy... the only time in life where going absolutely insane is absolutely normal :)

• Kennedy Sylvia was born on Valentine's Day at 8:15pm!!!! She is 5 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches! She's absolutely perfect.
