Nausea at 22 weeks

I didn't have any morning sickness and ill feelings at all in the first half of my pregnancy. But the past week I have been nauseated a lot, have lost my appetite completely, when I do eat I get full very quickly, which leads back to the nauseous feeling. Is this a thing? Thought the 2nd tri was the "honeymoon" stage. I'm 22 wks today.

Re: Nausea at 22 weeks

  • I know of women that experienced nausea/vomiting throughout their entire pregnancy, so this could be pregnancy related or perhaps you're experiencing some sort of illness. Either way, it doesn't sound like too much to be concerned over. If you are worried, call your doc just for some peace of mind. Hope you feel better soon!

  • I was the same! No morning sickness at all and now I've started feeling sick in some am hours. The doctor said it could be related to my low blood sugar and that I have to up my protein. Which is a lot harder then it sounds.
But that's my circumstance yours is probably very different. Ask your doctor
Maybe just try to eat small snacks throughout the day more?
  • I have had continuous nausea since 6 weeks. I'm 23 weeks now. I read either here in the weekly update or on the ovia app that the baby is actually starting to produce its own hormones now. Maybe the shift of you needing to produce less is affecting you? Any time my hormones fluctuate I have a horrible influx of acne and intense nausea. Hopefully it's temporary!!
  • I'm 20 weeks and been feeling worse at night. Like you- no appetite. I eat a recent breakfast but that's about it. I thought it could be low blood sugar but I actually feel worse if I eat. I've heard baby's hormones are to blame. Hope it passes soon!
  • I'm 22 weeks and have felt really nauseous lately and get super dizzy easily if I don't eat enough! Which I have been eating like mad!! I had nausea for 12 weeks at the start , not sure what's going on but not feeling too hot !!!
  • I'm feeling nauseous too ( it never really went away for me though) im still taking Diclectin and its a struggle for me to eat also, I feel like my tummy is so squished that there is no room for food. Hopefully you feel better soon- I find cold stuff makes me feel a bit better, smoothies, milkshakes, Popsicles etc. Hope you feel better
  • Check out our daily symptoms threads, you are definitely not alone. I too, at almost 23 weeks, still experience on and off bouts of nausea. In fact, I had to make a morning run to bathroom today and yes, I feel a little mislead every time I get sick because the second trimester is supposed to be smooth sailing, but point is: every pregnancy is different. If you're worried, talk to your OB.
    Hope you feel better soon!
