He simply won't drop!

Hey everyone.
So, this is my first child. Due 2/14. Needless to say, I'm already pretty nervous as it is. To top it off, I've been dilated 1cm for three weeks now, irregular contractions, and (the biggest issue, according to my OB), my son simply WILL NOT drop! He is head down, but his head is high.
I was told to walk a lot, which I've been doing, but he just doesn't want to drop!
Anyone else have this issue? How did you resolve it? Is this as big a deal as it is in my head? Probably not. FTM fears and whatnot.

Iv heard some babies don't drop until active labor. With my first DS I didn't even notice if he dropped or not. Don't stress enjoy the last few days of felling baby inside

I'm having the exact same thing occur and I'm only dilated a teeny bit. Not even a full centimeter. He won't really push down. And my doctor assured me they can induce me and it would be fine but I really rather not be induced . I just want him to move. I keep active to encourage him but he hasn't moved. I feel your frustration too as a FTM!

I agree with PP that sometimes they don't drop until active labor. Try bouncing on a birthing ball or squats. All that being said LO will do what he wants. Just try and be patient and not stress over it.

My DD didn't drop until I was in active labor. My doctor never was concerned about that either.

I delivered my 4th baby last Tuesday night at 10:39pm ... He never dropped until an hour beforehand. Good luck and try not to stress!
