I was hoping you could help me with a few lovenox questions. You both gave me some advice a few weeks ago but I was looking for more advice. I was put on in by my RE who vacillated whether or not whether to use it, as I have no clotting disorders that were ever found (the Doppler u/s I had done at c.crm showed a very slight decreased blood flow to right uterine artery but I don't think my RE even knew that info). She basically just said it 'could' increase blood flow to the uterus/baby in people with recurrent loss or unexplained infertility. I then saw my OB who doesn't like me using it at all and referred me to the MFM clinic for evaluation. Now, DH has done some 'research ' and found that it can cause many side effects such as hemorrhaging in the fetus and a link between lovenox and autism. When you guys saw MFM or Dr. Kk, were the risks discussed? Did you hear of these kinds of problems? DH has me very worried now and wants me to stop ASAP (which I won't obviously until I see MFM). Just looking for advice and/or reassurance. Tia!

Huge hugs! This is so hard. Chiming in since I am also in lovenox. I know Dr. KK, my nurse there, my MFM and OB never once mentioned the side effects. I have quite a few clotting issues and have been out of work all 3rd tri for fear of clotting. I am on Lovenox 2x a day and scans weekly for clots/ issues with baby. I also was on prometrium and prednisone for a really long time and the side effects of that are bad too. I never heard of the autism link but the rates are much higher in NJ and especially for a boy- so I'm not sure what to think about that. I know that with the lovenox you can't have an epidural- and I will be switching to heparin in a few weeks (at 36 weeks). I would also love to hear what the other ladies say.

I never heard of the autism thing. And I don't know what you mean by hemoraging in the fetus. What can happen is that if you get an SCH the blood thinners can make it bigger and then cause a problem for the fetus. Of all the doctors I've seen the only thing they were ever concerned about was if I were in a car accident that it's not reversible. And that I personally get huge hematomas on my stomach but I switched to arixtra which is in the same family and it causes less cause its 1x a day.

However I've fallen been in car accidents cut myself and done every other stupid thing and never had a problem. I think fear of the unknown is a major factor with OBs. My regular OB has never had a problem with it she was more concerned about prednisone.

Thanks! I don't know what DH meant about the hemorrhaging either really, some article he read but I didn't actually see. I appreciate the reassurance and the sharing of your personal experience.
