Am i the only one that has to sleep in the corner of the bed sitting up? I'm so miserable at 31 weeks can't lay down sleeping is a big problem for me? Any one else having the same problem??
I think most people have issues at one point or another. For me, i have issues sleeping laying down when my hips are hurting more than usual, so i just go to the lounge and nap on the recliner.
If it is pain related, my hospital offers pregnancy specific exercise/ phisio classes so it could help to see if you can attend any of those sorts of things.
I've recently started having sleep troubles too, @ 28 weeks. I've woken up in the middle of the night with chest pain so bad I thought I'd need an ambulance (it was HEARTBURN!) so I have to sleep propped up. I've also found my insomnia is getting consistently worse. Thank goodness it's the home stretch!
I'm having sleeping issues as well - not every night but at least 2-3 nights a week. The left side seems to work but only if I am cocooned by my snoogle. I dream of the day I can sleep on my stomach again.
I've been sleeping sitting up in the corner of my couch since about 26 weeks. Between the hip pain and heartburn this seems to be the only place that works for me; well that and baby's glider, but I use that mostly for naps.
Little by little my sleep patterns are getting worse. I sleep with a snoogle to my right and a body pillow to my left like a fort...my poor husband. I, also, cant WAIT to sleep on my stomach again...the countdown is definitely on.
I don't have a problem getting comfortable at night but I wake up several times every night and around 4am I usually can't fall back to sleep. Sometimes I fall back to sleep around 7 but then have to be back up at 8. It sucks
Sleeping is very uncomfortable these days. Between the hip pain, random breathlessness, having to pee, and constant heartburn/acid reflux I am up a lot during the night.
Between numerous pee trips, my sore arm from my TDAP shot and my burgeoning bump I feel you. I could at least toss from right to left side before but my TDAP "wound" is so sore I am stuck with only one side. It sucks but totally worth it when we meet these LOs.
same boat as you all, the hip/upper leg pain is what gets me the most. I end up needing to get up (and pee usually haha) just to try and shake it off. I've been bouncing from the couch where I can sit up to the bed for the last couple weeks. I think it's just our bodies preparing us for those nightly feelings and babies needs!! good luck ladies!! home stretch is right!!
You are lucky if this is a new problem. Many people experience sleep problems earlier on in the pregnancy then 31 weeks. Personally, I have been dealing with sleep issues all along. First tri because of m/s, 2nd breathing and back pain 3rd back pain, hip pain, and uncomfortable. I also remember reading some where that sleeping problems are part of the bodies way to get ready for baby. Your body is teaching itself how to function on a lack of sleep. Obviously, that doesn't have to do with being uncomfortable or pain but when you have those nights where you wake up at 3am and can't fall back to sleep. I am not saying this is a valid theory but you never know.
I am expecting twins and have had excruciating hip pain since first trimester that prevents sleep. Just started seeing a chiropractor to hopefully relieve some pain. Along with heartburn, insomnia, and restless leg syndrome! It's tough but I know it's worth the reward. My husband also said i'm snoring so bad the walls and furniture move when I inhale! Haha
Since around 26 weeks I get up about 4-8 times for a wee, breathing is difficult, constant pins and needles in my arms and hands and general insomnia due to excitement/nerves- im up usually from about 4am til 9am- APRIL 15th can't come soon enough!
I'm not in pain or anything, but I'm usually a back and belly sleeper. And trying to sleep on my side is making me nuts. I wake up feeling just as tired as when I went to bed because I toss and turn all night. I sleep with three or four pillows to keep me on my side. But it's still so uncomfortable.
I had the same problem until my husband bought me the Snoogle pillow. That thing has helped so much, I can't imagine how I got through my first pregnancy without it.
