New pump or replace parts

I have an Avent ISIS double electric pump that I used with my last 2 babies (purchased in 2011). I was thinking to just buy new valves and diaphragms and use it again. I had a decent experience with it in the past. The other possibility is that my insurance covers breast pumps, so I can get a new one. They may only partially cover the ones that I want, so it may still cost me $150+ to get a new pump. Should I stick with what I know, or go for the new one?

Re: New pump or replace parts

  • I would do both. Find out what your insurance covers and try something new for free and have the new one as a backup in case your old one fails or you may end up liking the new one. It's good to have backups though. You could leave one in the car or work in case you forget it one day. (I've done it twice and forgotten the collection bottles twice.) At least your new one would be replaced under warranty if something failed on it. (I went through 4 Ameda Purely Yours)
