Pregnant with migrated iud

Please help. I went to my pre-op visit with my OB to have my mirena removed because it had migrated to my abdomen... Surprise.. I'm pregnant. My doctor is saying that she does not want to remove the mirena until after the baby is born. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? I'm worried about the baby. Will it affect the baby in any way?

Its true… they don't remove them until its time to deliver reason being it could cause a miscarriage
