Leaving work before due date

im 30 weeks and have been dealing with pelvic pain which has made it really difficult to walk, bend over and basically get around at all.
Talked to my Ob they say it's normal and to try a belt. I'm s receptionist/vet assistant and for the whole month of February I'm working 5-6 days a week because we're short staffed. The pain gets worse when I'm at work and then afterwards.


When I do take maternity leave it'll be unpaid. Is it to early to request a note from my Ob to leave early?

I am trying not to take leave until my baby is actually here because my leave is unpaid as well. I know you said you're short this month, but could you request half days from your doc or boss?

I probably could, I know we're trying to hire 2 new people. My work has been pretty understanding about everything.
If I can I'd like to make it till at least 34 weeks, but it's just been really unbareable lately

I would hate to eat into my leave time by taking my leave early. Like PP said, see if your boss would be willing to lighten your schedule, or maybe there is less strenuous work to do that you can be responsible for, and leave the heavy work to other people? I say definitely find out your options before deciding on an early leave. But if there are no other options, definitely ask your doctor their opinion. At this point your health and your baby's health need to come first.

Talk to your Ob, I'm 36 weeks expecting twins and he still wouldn't sign off on FMLA or me taking leave yet. I was told only 'contractions' would be a good enough reason for him to give me note so I decided to stop working on my own and use vacation/sick leave. I'm a supervisor and work sitting down almost all day but the driving was awful and it got too much for me so I stopped working at 34 weeks.

There's no reason you can't start early, but it might eat into the actual time you have to bond with your baby. You need to weigh the costs and benefits and make the appropriate decision for you.

I am working until the start of my 39th week. I only have 2 weeks to go, and I am miserable and uncomfortable and grumpy. But we need the money and I am trying to keep as much of my leave time for the baby as possible. So I suck it up and deal.
