pressure on right side/diaphram

Anyone else experiencing burning/pressure/soreness on the bottom of their right rib cage /diaphragm area? This is painful and very uncomfortable! Pushing on the area with my hand relieves some of the pressure. Wondering what causes this? And how to prevent it...

It may be that you are having some separation between your ribs and cartilage. This happened to me with my son, and has started back up. For me, it is on the right, but directly under the breast. It is a burning sensation and is partly relived by pressure. I don't think there is any way to prevent it and, sorry to say, it may get worse as you grow and more strain is placed on the area.

Of course, you should mention it at your next appointment if it continues.

I've had this several nights now and a few times during the day, but on both sides directly underneath each breast. It is extremely painful. Spoke briefly with my OB today, and she said it could be round ligament pains, which are normally in the lower abdomen, and it could be cartilage detaching from the ribs. Seems a bit early for this to be happening? I definitely plan to talk to her more about it at my next appointment. You are not alone!

I had that the other night. It's probably just gas, but it is very painful. I just tried to distract myself until it went away. I don't know what medicines are safe during pregnancy for relieving gas but ask your OB if you keep experiencing it. Good luck!

I had this with my first pregnancy and this one (my third). Your diaphragm is probably getting pinched between your ribs (hooray lol). The only thing that helped me was going to the chiropractor and ice - and it was only temporary. Obviously mentioning to your doctor is always a good thing - but I'm pretty sure u have nothing to worry about praying for great pregnancies and healthy babies!
