I had contractions all day Friday but they didn't hurt much and they were very sporadic. At about 3am on Sat I woke up to stronger contractions but still 10-15 min apart. It wasn't until 8am that they got closer consistently. I talked to my dr at 9am saying they were about 5min apart and she said to come in. We gathered our bags and dropped my 2 year old off at my sister's house. We got to the hospital at 10:20ish. By this point the contractions were making me double over in pain.
It was excruciating!! I was expecting to be between a 3 and a 5 but when she checked me I was already at 9cm!!!!! Needless to say, no time for an epidural... I wasn't planning to go all natural so that was a scary realization for me! My water broke a few contractions later and in walked my dr... Still in her street clothes with her coat on! She barely had time to put on a gown and gloves before I was ready to push!!! Bailey Joy was born moments later at 10:48am (28 minutes after check-in) and only about 2 pushes! It was crazy! My body was in shock afterwards. I was shaking & so cold. My poor hubby... He tries to say he was just feeling dehydrated buy I think he also was in shock because he almost puked (he swears it wasn't the "gore" and I believe him since this is our 2nd and he was fine with the first). She is beautiful and I am SO in love. Still can't believe I gave birth without pain meds!! To be honest, given a choice next time, I don't know what I would do! (Was induced & had an Epi with my first)... Tried to attach a picture of my beauty queen -- hopefully it worked!
