Heaven Help ME!!!

Well our house has been hit by the plague since the beginning of January.  I have been dealing with sick kids (sinus infections for both, double ear infections for DD, coughing, fevers, chills)  Good times!  Well I finally came down with it last week and had to be on a Zpack.  Lord help me the biggest baby of them all just got the sniffles and has taken to his sick bed.....the hubs.  I could strangle him.  I literally had the flu and was dragging myself around and taking care of the kids because fo course they both want Mommy.  I hardly got to rest AT ALL.  He just has a stuffy nose and is napping as we speak.  I may smother him with a pillow.

I just needed to vent because I love how he gets to rest up and not deal with kids when he is sick but not so much when it was me who wanted to die with 102 fever, chills and body aches.  He doesn't even have a fever!!!!!!!

Sorry I'm a little perturbed

Hey! Hello from MY sickhouse to yours!! Same here - minus the sick husband. Mine didn't get sick because he was OUT OF TOWN the entire 2 weeks we were all sick!!
    I hate this!

DD1 dragged RSV from school, after a week of this misery I took her to the doc and it turned out she developed bronchitis and was put on antibiotics. Well the same day basically both me and the BABY started coughing heavily. By day 3 I had over 100 degree fever and felt like I was dying! Imagine having to care for 2 sick kids in that state, one of them a 2 month old baby!!
I finally went to the doc and turns out I had bronchitis too PLUS a double ear infection!!! Well that would explain the pounding eadache which Tylenol didn't even touch. Got zpack for that.
And we took Baby to the doc too for her RSV and she's been on a steroid nebulizer since then.

My hubbs? Absent through the entire thing and will be for another week or so (this time he's in China so not like he can take a quick flight home). I feel like walking death!!

And to add insult to injury - the Baby now refuses to nurse!! Yeah, the same kid who earlier wanted to nurse every 1-2hrs. I get it - when she was all stuffed up and coughing it was uncomfortable. But she just won't go back to nursing! So after days of fighting with her, and me - being exhausted and drenched in sweat every time, and her - exhausted, frustrated and starving, I am now pumping for her every 2 hours.
Have I mentioned I feel like walking death?

I think i will be officially done breastfeeding soon because I can't keep up with this lifestyle... My 3yo keeps saying 'mommy come play with me' in a dejected voice while I sit there pumping and the LO is shrieking... It's awful!
I am kind of looking for someone to tell me it's ok to stop and all that... Ughhh...

I hope everyone is healthy soon and that all germs stay away from your family for the rest of the year since you have already had at least your share. And hope that maybe your dh will at least realize (once his sniffles are gone) that he owes you at least some very nice treat. Not that it could equal needed rest when sick with the flu, but at least some gesture of appreciation. Maybe. (Not that my dh would ever do that but maybe yours is better that way?)

  • @harmonicbabe26‌ - It's okay to stop. Really, it is. I will be the one to say it.
  • Oh goodness. I am praying we don't get it. The flu, stomach bug, and strep are rampant here right now.
Hope you all who are sick get some much needed and ddeserved rest.

  • Holy cow, I'm so sorry you guys. I really hope you all get better soon! I've been in the same situation so I know what it's like. Men do seem to take care of themselves while letting us take on everyone else, unable to get the rest we need. The last time this happened in my house I almost had a complete meltdown.

Hugs and good thoughts going your way!!

  • Ugg I feel your pain! RSV hit our house too and we all got it. It's a really bad cold that lasts for 4 weeks. I've got humidifiers on in every room. Me and the hubs seem to have recovered more quickly than the boys. I bought a Nosefrida because I've become obsessed with sucking boogers to keep the baby healthy and asleep. Gotta say only a mother could use that thing! Although my 6yr old thought it was cool and let me try it on him first. How could I have gotten sick? Ugg luckily we are near the end of it. I just hope no new friends come home with the baby. DH retreats to our room and doesn't let anyone in when there is illness in the house. But when he is sick, he's a big baby.

  • Update on my sickhouse because I had to go back to the doc for myself. I now have a full blown sinus infection and a ruptured ear drum (from blowing my nose so much). Hubby? Yup still in China. Thanks a lot rsv... Ughhh... 10 days worth of antibiotics for me now.
  • Sorry I know how you feel! My whole house was sick before the holidays, stomach bug then influenza! Ugh! There were days where I wanted to smoother my hubby also. Lol! Men can be such big babies! I really did not care to hear how he felt I was sick also and pregnant! I should also say very moody lately. Lol! Plus the 2 year old and 6 year old had it. At least he could take some meds...Ha

  • OMG a ruptured ear drum? that sounds awful!  I had an upper respiratory infection accompanied by a fever of 102 this week and thought I was bad off; however I keep thanking my lucky stars that my LO hasn't caught it!

Fingers crossed everyone's hubbies are extra doting in the coming weeks!
