when to see the doctor

I read online somewhere that if your period is less than 5 days or longer than 7 there is a chance you didnt ovulate.

I am only on my 3rd cycle now on day 18 and my temperature still hasnt spiked. From what i can tell i havent ovulated at all yet. How normal is this after coming off the pill? And how soon should I be seeking medical opinion?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

I can't really speak to benign off the pill, as I haven't been on it in a while, but typically it takes 6 months to a year to get pregnant. You can call your dr to discuss your options and maybe she'll do some tests to find out if your ovulating and maybe she won't. Many Drs prefer to give you 6 months to a year of trying before they step in and perceive drugs and tests. I would call if you're concerned and have this discussion with your doctor. Side note, I have never heard anything about period length having any bearing on if you ovulated or not.

ive never heard that. My period was never regular. Sometimes it would last 5 days, other times I would last 8 days. However, I conceived 4 months after trying. Every couple is different, and I say couple because there are multiple factors that affect when conception occurs. My doctor told me that many health couples can take up to a year to conceive. I would suggest seeing your doctor anyway if you plan to conceive. The doctor will do a routine checkup and answer any questions you may have. Good luck!

Sorry, I can't offer advice regarding coming off the pill.
I've never heard anything about short periods and not ovulating before. I have shorter periods (3-4 days) and I've been able to confirm ovulation through temping. I've never gotten pregnant, but also haven't started TTC.

Thank you all, I did make an appointment and the doctor said it is nothing to be worried about but I was worried because I had a lot of irregular bleeding. At one point i was spotting black and my last cycle only last 18 days which made me very nervous.
Anybody care to share how long it too to finally ovulate after BCP?

It could take your body several months to settle after coming off of the pill. I will also say I don't ovulate until around day 24, and my cyles are 36-40 days long.
