Today I went to brush some lint out the youngest hair...and it moved. Upon better inspection I found it to be crawling and he had pals with him too! Its just insane because the child barely has any hair and I am always washing, combing and playing with her hair (she loves having her hair done) and have not seen them before now. I quick checked all the others and saw nothing on anyone...but everyone is getting treated anyways just to be sure!! I am so sure I have them because the little one sleeps with me and always is all over my head...She loves our heads touching while we sleep.
I hate chemicals anyways but the little one is too young to use them and I won't while I am pregnant so I am on the hunt tomorrow for the natural products I have researched that seem to work well....and we will be combing combing combing. My other 2 daughters have super duper thick hair and we all have hair to our waists...At least mine is pretty fine and thin. NIGHTMARE!!!!!
You can get a great natural product that used dimethecone and silica to suffocate the lice. No bad chems and it gives your hair a lovely silkening conditioning treatment too... Not sure what the brand is but you could google it?
I am a recent graduate from this board. We dealt with this too back in Oct. My youngest was the only one that had it thank goodness.
We tried the chemical treatment and no luck. What worked fornl us was the listerine and shower cap. Then I would use tgel every other day for a couple days.
Also I would lay her down on the floor with a desk lamp and pick each one out. I would use cuticle scissors and clip the eggs out.
After all that we use leave in conditioner every day now bc of the oils it contains and coconut oil conditioner.
It was an utter nightmare but we finally are rid of it.

Ugh!! We just got a note sent home in my toddlers bag that said there's a case of head lice in her classroom. Yay!! Crossing my fingers that she doesn't get it.
I got head lice from.one of my day care kids. So not the way I wanted to spend my weekend! Luckily where I live there is a lice removal salon so i have an appointment on Monday morning to see if there are still more or not.
Listerine is the way to go for killing the live ones, then for getting the nits to disolve I think I used a spray bottle of vinegar. You will need the nit comb.

I work at a juvenile detention facility. We had a girl come in with lice several years ago. We tried RID twice with no success. What actually worked was covering her head with mayo and then covering that with a shower cap. She slept with that in her hair and washed it out in the morning.
I did mayo on my hair overnight. The only (hilarious) problem was my one cat seems to like mayo. So much, in fact, that all night she kept coming into my room and would loudly be sniffing around, come to my head and then try to bit through the cap to get the mayo. I would wake up and she would be staring me down ready to come at my head. In the morning the live lice just washed right out in the shower. My daughter combed out my hair for me and we found nothing left.
I bought something called LiceFree gel at the drugstore. Its a non chemical thing. It worked fantastic on the boy's hair. You could just glide a comb right through and only one boy had anything in their hair. It was the youngest boy. Weird thing was no adult lice were on him but he had a bunch of nits. I did the gel stuff on my hair just as a second to be safe treatment on me as I was not convinced my daughter did a good job with the comb out the first time. Combing the gel out of very long hair was not easy. Great for short hair.
I found no adult bugs on anyone but me and the baby. I found one old egg on my one daughter but nothing else. But everyone was treated.
I do a quick check on everyone everyday and have not seen anything. I will retreat everyone every week for a month as a be safe procedure. Its all non chemical so it wont hurt them
Are there any lice boutiques near you? They get rid of lice using steam and a special machine. They guarantee 99% success or they retreat you for free. My SIL did this and it was gone after one treatment and her kids have very thick hair. The ones around here are called Rapunzel's lice boutique.

No. We live in a rural area...and the surrounding areas are very small towns. I drive an hour to get groceries. I have heard of those places and that would be great.
