Camera for the hubby at delivery

Hi ladies - I could use a little advice.  I am a semi-pro photographer but I haven't paid much attention to the world of point and shoots.  I need a camera for my husband to use when our daughter is born in a few weeks.  I am always the one who takes the pictures so I need something with good quality but very user friendly.  Something he can just pick up and go with.  It seems like most of the PNS I have looked at are so slow and my husband is a bit shaky.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Can you just put your DSLR on auto for him?

My nurse took much better pictures with my DSLR than my husband did! And then I was able to get some good ones before we left the hospital. 

Honestly, we like looking at those pictures occasionally, but there are soooo many pictures of my kids that those never make the print-hang-frame category. I'd say to not stress about it too much, let your husband use whatever he's comfortable with, and definitely take your camera and hopefully you'll have a competent nurse who can fill in any gaps.
