    Hey there :)
I'm 28w6d today. Nothing new this week, other than me breaking part of my foot. I'm getting around ok on crutches. Same transient contractions (painful) but they subside with rest and water. NBD!
OB appointment coming up this Tuesday, I think I'm getting the steroid shot for baby's lungs this appointment or maybe the next one. My DH is out of town at the beginning of next week, and while I'm happy for him to do training he loves, we will be lonely without him! Also I don't know how the f I'm going to take care of wild thing DD1 without my backup.

I feel like I'm a cat person because I like a low maintenance pet, but DH walks our dog and picks up her crap and I love her to pieces. So can I be both?

I saw my hematologist this week and got a warm fuzzy from her.  She's going to give a birth plan to my OB but sounded like she is going to try to do it as much like my last one as possible.  So unless I happen to go into labor before being induced, all should be well.  I feel a lot better about that.

I signed up for my first week of 2X weekly testing which starts the week of the 9th till week 39.  BPP on mondays and NST on thursdays.

GTKY: I'm definitely a dog person.  Only ever had one cat I liked even a little.  But as far as dogs go, I'm a fan of the giant breeds.  Anything I can pet without bending over seems a good size.  I've had 3 newfoundlands.  Only one is still with me though.

I'm 30w2d. I have never been this pregnant before. Everything beyond this point is new to me. I'm so nervous, scared but happy. Each day on the inside is like 3 days on the outside. So just trying to keep our little girl cooking.

I had my 30w appt on 1/29. The mfm and my doctor were amazed. My cervix has grown. Now up to 40, I was 34 at my last appt. Couldn't get a weight on her because she was in a half pike position. Said everything looks great. I'm still on the progesterone injections til 36w.

GTKY: I am a dog person. I have two dogs. I do have a cat that I've had since I was 19 and my college roomie left the cat so I took her. The cat is now 12 and my son tries to squish and hug her every day.

    (Sorry for the long post!)
Hi ladies, I guess I am new to posting and new to the high risk club :-/

I'm 29w4d and have found myself in a hospital bed since Wednesday...

Pregnancy has been going so well for me with my first. I went to my regular midwife appt on Wednesday & ended up having elevated blood pressure & some protein in my urine. Naturally, it's a concern for preeclampsia. They asked me to change floors (midwife group is in a hospital) and register to be monitored for "a couple hours". I ended up having an even higher BP but baby's heart rate was fine. The suggestion was to stay overnight and start a 24hr urine test. I stayed two nights & the urine & blood work came back fine! BP also stabilized. Whew! What a relief. We put a gameplan together to monitor my BP at home and have more frequent visits. I was about to be sprung from that place!

So I thought...the midwives, being proactive and ultra-conservative wanted to pass the info along to a MFM specialist at their affiliate hospital. That doctor wanted one more ultrasound before I was to be released on Friday. The ultrasound results came back and they were quite concerning...the baby is measuring in the 10th percentile for growth and reduced blood flow to the placenta. I was in total shock. They said I was to be given a shot of steroids to help with the baby's lung development & be transported to the affiliate hospital with an IV. I was no longer going to be in the care of my special midwives group. They said there would be a chance I would deliver soon.

Upon getting to the new hospital, blood work, urine, tracing the baby's heart rate and another in depth U/S were given and we listened to the placenta with the MFM. He was concerned. He said there's a chance I will be delivering soon if we find the baby is under distress. I am now hospital bound & under careful observation. So far, BP's and tracing have been good.

A neonatal specialist came in to give us a verbal tour of what it would be like to have a baby at 29w. This was a huge blow. We were in a state of shock & trying to wrap our brains around everything....so here I sit. Taking it moment by moment....

ETA: U/S tomorrow to check placenta again. I just had my second steroid dose today.

GTKY: Definitely a dog person! We own a 94lb black lab/golden retriever mix who thinks he's a lap dog :) I have been missing my gentle giant these past few days...Here he is with my best friend's baby practicing his babysitting skills.

Thank you for reading my LONG post. Love and positive vibes to all you gals!! Let's keep our buns in the oven as long as we can!!image

@rachellewaiting‌ I didn't even know it was possible for the cervix to grow. I'm wondering if it's the progesterone injections. Whatever it is, I'm so happy. And happy that your cervix grew too! Here is to full term pregnancies!

Oh my goodness. So what's the next step? Sorry you're going through this. I wish our bodies would cooperate with us!

@rachellewaiting‌ sorry about the cervix scare! Mine is currently 2.1cm. Had my steroids yesterday and the day before. Take it easy!!!

Last pregnancy I gained length with strict bed rest! It can be done. I went from 2cm to 3.2cm last pregnancy over the course of 4 months. You can do it. We are here!
