so I've been MIA for awhile as I was laying low through all the TOU change drama when something unexpected happened. I have been measuring small this whole pregnancy which wasn't too much of a worry since I am also small. However, at 29 weeks I got sent to a specialist for an ultrasound to make sure my baby was just small and nothing was wrong. From the ultrasound they found out my placenta was failing and I delivered my baby girl via emergency c section at 29 weeks 4 days. She was born on January 23rd at only 1 lb 15 oz. they don't know what caused my placenta to fail, only that it was dying and that I should have miscarried early in the pregnancy. I feel blessed to tell you all my miracle baby girl is doing AMAZINGLY. She is breathing on her own and is only having trouble digesting breast milk, which is to be expected at such an early age. It is incredible what modern medicine can accomplish. I still plan to stay on this birth month as my baby will likely develop at the same rate all of your full term babies will. I hope I haven't missed too much and you all are happy and healthy!
