I miss you guys and just wanted to say hello and a quick update

I miss you guys so much! I hope all is well with everyone. DH and I are taking things day by day and with faith and each other we are remaining strong. I finally got the courage to come on here for a little research and just wanted to ::Wave:: hello. Know that I am thinking about my PAIF sisters constantly and I hope everyone has a smooth sailing journey. XOXO

If anyone has any IC (this was the final dx...no infection found) stories can you please share them with me. OB says next time ill be on P17 injections and Ill need a cerclage...scary stuff and I am terrified to go through this again but you know I will risk it because at the end of the day we want a family. I've read a little on Dr Google and the odds seem good its just hard to believe itll be okay after going what we've just gone through.

ETA-Someone fill me in on this drama on TB...WTF did I miss??????

It's so great to see you on here!  I've thought about you often.  I don't know much about IC, but I'm glad the odds look good.

Long story short...the higher ups at XO tightened up guidelines and the same day they were released, they decided to ban a bunch of people - most were mods who had disagreed with phrasing on the guidelines...some maybe just didn't get along with BumpMay...no one really knows with certainty.  But obviously the banning of a lot of regulars and mods (like Naria) set people off.  That started the first exodus wave.  Plus some of the people who revolted posted porn on the boards, so that really went over well.

Then to make things worse, XO released a stupid statement where they referred to all the people who got banned as bad apples...as if you could group great and supportive mods in the same category as people who posted porn on the site.  And THEN they removed all mods and announced there would be "professional" mods.  So that caused an even bigger mass exodus, since it proved they didn't give two shaits about the regulars.

That's probably the shortest way to explain it - there's lots more to it than that.  The boards are much slower - 3T was pretty much obliterated.  Very sad all around, and we are very disappointed in how XO has handled everything.  Nonetheless, a few of us still wanted to post on here, since the site where everyone else went is hard to find.  If anyone wandered back or if any new people seeking help in the IF community posted, we didn't want them to see a dead board. 

I don't want to post the link to the other site b/c it could cause me to be banned...but you may find it on some other boards, if the admins didn't find and delete all of the mentions.  Some of us post on both boards.  Or PM me your email and I can send you the link.

Hello my dear! In all my time here, there were a few IF ladies with IC who were successful with cerclage placement. One in particular opted for a trans abdominal cerclage (I think that's what it's called). It was a major decision but it was what she felt was best for her situation. There's a lot to research.

As far as the drama.....well there are several stories. Lots of people banned, a much loved mod banned, then all mods were 'fired'....drama ensued! I was staying put, but after they got rid of all the mods with no explanation, I moved over to the new place. I still stalk here to keep tabs on ladies who stayed put. Some boards really did get out of control, but they were not boards I vidited anyway.

Hello, @CarSaidYes‌ . Glad you poked your cabeza in to catch up! ( @Wolfette139‌ gave me some helpful support when I was recently diagnosed w a shortening cervix... It DANCES. Not kidding.)

I'm dirty lurking but I have an IRL friend who lost twin boys at 20 wks due to an IC. She just delivered a full term baby boy. She did have a cerclage placed and it worked well. She had it removed at 36 wks and had to be induced at 40 wks.

I hope that gives you a little hope. Take care of yourself

It's good to see you again, @CarSaidYes - I think about you often.  Day by day is a sound strategy, and I'm glad to see that its been helping you to get by.

I have limited experience with IC, but one of my recent hospital roommates was dealing IC in addition to PPROM. She was a FTM, and she wasn't diagnosed with IC until late in her pregnancy, and she got her cerclaget at 23 weeks I believe.  She was my roommate for a little less than a week, and she went into labor at 32+ weeks.  Her baby is still in the NICU but doing well and breathing on his own.  He was born at more than 4 lbs, and he will hopefully be going home in 3 weeks.

Her doctor thinks her cerclage was instrumental in keeping her pregnant until 32 weeks.  It's early, but I think she will very much be a success story.

On another site I am active on had someone with IC who lost her twins around 20 or so weeks. She opted for the transabdominal cerclage and recently carried a healthy baby boy to term.

It's good to hear from you @CarSaidYes‌! I'm glad you two seem to be doing as well as possible. I don't have personal experience, but a fellow IF friend had IC and lost their son at 22 weeks. With her next pregnancy they placed a cerclage pretty early on and she was able to carry her son to 38 weeks (they removed it at 36)!

((hugs)) Good to hear from you, and to hear that you and your OH are healing well. I saw you posted on PgAL, which is what I was going to recommend. Several women there, and on PAL, had an IC dx. There was MASS exodus of that population, so you might try the Dark Side forums as well.

Then did ivf and is now pg again.

@carsaidyes SOO good to see you!  I have no experience or advice for you, other than the fact that I would have also used Dr. Google like crazy for all of that information.

The drama on the boards was crazy!!!

Thanks for paging me Ronniesgirl. @CarSaidYes we were on the same BMB. I just responded to your PM. Long story short, I had a surprise IC loss in April. With my last pregnancy, I had a preventative cerclage placed at 13+6. Unfortunately my cervix was too weak to hold the stitch & I lost my son same day as you. I am waiting to speak with one of the top docs in the country in Chicago about a transabdominal cerclage. Like Wolfette said, it does require a c/s for future deliveries, but has a higher success rate. There's just no way to know if you need to go to that extreme or not. I'll be happy to give you all the information I have.

Glad to see you and dh are doing as well as can be! I too have a friend IRL who had IC- she lost twins at around 20 weeks but the next time she was pg, she put in the transabdominal cerclage and just recently delivered to twins at 37 weeks! I hope to see you round soon! Take care of yourself!
