Baby Names

a sister for Charlotte Rose?

We're having a really tough time coming up with a name for baby girl #2, especially because I'm a teacher and as a result, many names have less-than-ideal associations for me. We want something that people recognize, without it being super common. We would really like to use Elizabeth as a mn as it is a family name...

Here's all we've come up with:
Juliet Elizabeth (hesitant because I don't like the obvious nn Julie)
Daphne Elizabeth
Genevieve Elizabeth
Penelope (Poppy) Elizabeth

Honest opinions? Other options? Thanks in advance! :)

Re: a sister for Charlotte Rose?

  • I love juliet and genevieve
  • Love your list!! I especially like Genevive.

    Other suggestions:
    Georgia
    Josephine
    Vivian
    Thea
    Violet
  • Loading the player...
  • I love Juliet!!! It would be my top pick and I don't think Julie would be too big of an issue, I personally wouldn't think of calling a Juliet Julie, I'd just call them Juliet, but even if people did you could easily correct them.

I also like Genevieve and Penelope (though not as much as the other two but I love the nn Poppy)
  • Caroline Elizabeth
  • My top picks for you would be Penelope (Poppy) or Genevieve. Charlotte and Penelope are great together! I do like Daphne as well.

The only one I dislike it Juliet. Charlotte and Juliet are kind of rhimey, and I just think Juliet sounds a little snotty.
  • Thanks, ladies! Truth be told, my #1 choice is Genevieve and DH's #1 choice is Juliet. I am so madly in love with Genevieve but DH says it is far too difficult to spell and it will haunt her her whole life. I can make the same argument about Juliet (misspelled as Juliette probably). It's not like Genevieve is tough to spell because it's younique and made up, ya know?? I'm torn!

  • Love Daphne myself.  We're expecting 2.0 in 4 weeks and if it is a little girl her name will be Daphne. :)

And as far as nick names...  Just be aware even if you always call your child by their full name or a nick name of your choosing...once they hit school age you will have no control over it being shortened or changed to something else...kids will do what they will with that. :)
  • All great options. You can't go wrong!
