I am so very sorry for your loss. When I had my M/C I emotionally needed to let it happen naturally. I just couldn't believe that it was going to happen and I couldn't face the D&C when I still was in denial. It was a hard process but for me it gave me better closure. I think that is different for every woman and her mind-set. Like pp's I would recommend think it through and trying to feel what would be best for you individually. Again I am so very sorry for the loss of your sweet angel. Try to take care of yourself.
I am so sorry for your loss. I was prescribed cytotec which does not come with the same risks as a D&C. I don't know whether it would work at 10 weeks though.
I lost my first pregnancy at 12 weeks, started spotting, went to the ER and found out baby had died at 8w4d. I opted to miscarry naturally since it had already started but it took another week for me to officially miscarry the baby. All that to say I recommend a natural miscarriage over D&C BUT it is highly likely you'll have to wait a few weeks AND it's pretty painful. I also struggled to get pregnant, took us over a year and lots of Drs visits so when it came to miscarrying I really wanted to do it on my own, not in a Dr office. It was the right decision for me but I do know that many people prefer it over and done with and don't want to wait out the natural route. Very personal decision, so sorry for your loss and best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
Personally, I have had 5 missed miscarriages and a D&C with each. I've never had a problem getting pregnant, just, staying pregnant. To me, it was the right choice as it completes the miscarriage physically and it is performed while you are sleeping. You will bleed some afterwards like a period, but, the pain is minimal (some cramping). Your hormones will start to leave your body right away because there is no pregnancy tissue left, but, it does take some time for them to be out of your system.
Hope you find my experience helpful in making a choice for yourself. Take care.
