Schedules

im trying to break DD of 2 naps each day. She used to nap at 10& 3 each one lasting about 1 1/2 hr. But when she woke up from the afternoon nap she was crazy miserable. I've been putting her in around 11:30 or 12. Today she went down around 11:20 and at the moment (it's 12:55pm) shes still sleeping. She woke up at 7am. Has a bottle around 10 or 10:30 then I hold her off till 11:30 or so. Is this an appropriate napping time? She usually lasts 5 hrs tops before needing sleep again. Also, I still give her her bottle of milk. She's never been into holding it herself. Just wondering what your LO is doing.

Re: Schedules

  • My DD gets up about 5:45 and naps from 10:30-1 usually. If we are out in the morning that may get pushed back but regardless she naps about 2.5 hrs. She goes to bed at 6:45 and sttn usually. She hadn't had a bottle since she turned 1 and she transitioned to one nap around 13 months I think.

  • My DD gets up about 8:30-9 and naps from 2-4ish. I make sure to put her in her crib about a half hour before I'd like to get her asleep by since she likes to play and read a book in her crib before falling asleep. She then goes to sleep about 8:45 and STTN usually. She doesn't get any bottles or milk before sleeping (she was EBF up until 3 weeks ago and refuses WCM) and has been down to 1 nap a day since 11 months, if I remember correctly.

  • My Dd wakes at around 6:45 to go to sitter. She plays for about 2 hours and naps atleast an hour and a half then gets up and plays until 1:30-2 then naps for about 2 hours. If she wakes up later it's usually play for 2 hrs nap for up to 2 hours then she goes to bed around 7:30-8 and sttn.
I've been thinking it's too much sleep but I think she is like me. I'm very sleep needy.

  • My son gets up at 6:30am.  He stays up for two hours and then naps from 8:30-10:30.  Stays up for 3 hours.  Usually naps from 1:30pm-3:00 or 3:30pm.  We get ready for bed at 7pm and he is in his crib by 7:30.  His MD said to keep him at 2 naps till he turns 2.  Even if one of their nap times is spent just sitting in their crib relaxing the quiet time is beneficial for them.
