TTC after 35

I am almost 40 with a 19 year old son TTC

hello I am new to this. My husband has no biological children and we are TTC and we both are almost 40. I have been under a lot of stress due to my mother staying with us for a year and a half. We TTC about 2 years ago and stopped due to my mother. I gained about 20 lbs and I am back in the gym to lose it and now re-focused to TTC. Any good advice on dealing with stress eating?

Welcome to the board. My oldest is 18 1/2 and I will be 40 this year also.
I am not a stress eater but I did keep 30 on me since my son was born 10 years ago. I just lost 35lbs this year but I did it using MyFitnessPal on my phone. Seeing the nutrition and calories of everything I ate or wanted to eat made me more conscious of my diet.
I just started going to the gym but it's to try and tone all my giggly bits.

My trick is just to make sure I never buy foods I have a weakness for. If it's not in the house you can't eat it! It's tough but just make sure you eat before you go grocerie shopping so you don't buy crap.

    Welcome and good luck!!!

Welcome! Good for you for getting healthy! I don't mean to endorse another company but I did Weight watchers for 4 years and lost 90 lbs. and emotional eating is my biggest challenge. And what I learned from that is invaluable. (Since being with my SO I have found some of that which I lost because I lost track and have been enjoying my relationship... I have to get back to it. )
I agree with @rspalding001 don't have it in the house if it's a trigger food for you.

Welcome!  I tend to stress eat as well.  It works best for me if I just don't buy the junk foods that I eat when stressed.  Good luck to you in everything!
