Are the Initals C.O.C. Ok?

Re: Are the Initals C.O.C. Ok?

  • For some reason COC doesn't bother me as much as some of the other combos mentioned here.

I'm in the camp of trying to use OCC and then you can call her by the middle name.  Kids will find anything to make fun of other kids so why not try to prevent a little tiny bit of it.  Although she may end up marrying someone with the last name starting with D and become OCD.   :D

  • monograms have the first name in the middle... so the monogram would be O.C.C.

  • What if she gets married and her husband's last name starts with a K?

    Then she would be COK.

    Would that bother you?

    You're kidding...right?

For someone who doesn't "give a flying fuck" about monograms, as you said, you sure know all the rules! I think you may be deceiving yourself there!

PSA: A simple google search tells you all you need to know about "monogram etiquette" and one doesnt even need to care about them to search for the answer!

    Fair enough!
  • Caroline Olivia is a nice name. I think you should ne her that and just don't use first middle and last initials ... Do first and last (C.C) and call her that around other people lol so when they do see her initials in entirety, they won't think of her initials as C.O.C
  • I don't think initials matter much, particularly the middle one. They only announce your first and last name in school.

  • It's just initials. It'll be okay.
  • X_X I wouldn't! The name is beautiful, but the initials are bad news. I would be afraid that boys would tease her in school, and it just seems like a very bad idea. I would change it - 100%.
  • Since this thread keeps popping up, I'll finally put in my two cents if OP is checking it: If you love the name, use it! You will seriously regret not giving your daughter a beautiful name that you adore all because of some arbitrary initials.

  • It is totally up to you! I wouldn't put any weight in what other people say. You obviously realize she "might" get teased or even bullied, but that isn't a guarantee. With that in mind you probably would prep her for sub an occasion to help her deal with problems she faces. In the end what do you think you could handle if a potential problem arose that might not even be a problem. I personally don't thinknits a big deal. It's probably be a great life lesson about blowing off jerks or turning a bad situation into a joke. Who knows. It's really up to you. Good luck with your decision.
