6 weeks pregnant only measuring 4 weeks

took a positive pregnancy test at my doctors office on January 14th. The doctor said at that time i was about 5 weeks pregnant. Yesterday i went for my first ultra sound expecting to see a 6 week 3 day fetus and to hear a heart beat. The tech said that everything was healthy, cervix was closed perfectly but that the sac was only measuring 4 weeks. No baby. She goes on to say it could be normal or...that it had stopped developing. The doctor ordered two more blood tests and another scan in one week. Anyone have any good end experiences with this type of thing? I am not bleeding and have all other normal pregnancy symptoms. Except nausea very mild comes and goes.

Urgh it's horrible to be in limbo like that. It really can go either way at this point. I've heard good and bad stories. All you can really do, it follow up with the blood tests, and ultrasound to see it the baby does grow. Good luck!

Yeah its a really awkward feeling. Ive been hearing good and bad stories also. Just hope the little biddy grows. I was on birth control for ten years straight prior to being off for 5 months. So im hoping i just wamst ovulating on a normal schedule.

Unless you were temping, there is no way of actually knowing when you ovulated. It could have been later than you think.

I am going through the exact same thing. My next ultrasound is on the 3rd. Best wishes for you and i will let you know my results too.

I went for my second blood test yestersay. Saturday they were at 2086 so hoping for doubles numbers

I dont think im going to survive until my ultrasound saturday. I saw the slightest tint of something on the toilet paper from my first morning pee im freaking out about every ach and cramp

My levels only went up by 500 they did not double. Ultrasound Saturday. Everyone keeps telling me to have hope but medically its not looking good.
