Sometimes closer to the due date you can feel less movement because baby has less room to move around, but honestly at 30 weeks I would think you should still be feeling plenty of activity. If I were in your shoes and noticed a definite decrease in movement, I would definitely call my doctor.

I agree with the PP. My dr said if you drink something cold and lay down and cant count 6 movements in an hour then call. If you really feel like somethings off then call though, it cant hurt anything !
It could be nothing, it could be problems with baby, or you could be fixing to go into labor. We can't tell you. I'm not trying to be snarky at all. I had decreased FM about 2 weeks ago and turns out I was pretty dehydrated. Now I'm having decreased fM but I'm also dilating slowly but surly so I have to have an ultrasound Tuesday to check her position and my cervical length. With my son I had a decrease in FM around that time but he was ginormous and was just running out of room. (He's still ginormous btw, 20 months today and the size of a three year old)
There are so many things it could be. We just can't tell you because what it is for one woman it might not be for you. I will keep you in my thoughts because I know how scared and stressful it is.
Anything you read online will tell you movement slows in third tri because they are running out of room, however, I think at 30 weeks FM should still be pretty prominent. If I feel him less during the day I wait till evening because he is always most active at about 11pm when I'm laying down. If I couldn't get him to move around at that time I would call me doc for sure because I would consider it abnormal. Better safe than sorry and that's what your doctor is there for.
Call your doctor. If it's just that the movements have switched from prominent kicks to more rolls, it may not be a big deal but if it's a decrease in movement overall that's different. It can't hurt to ask.
Doc just called said the strength of kicks is not of concern could just be due to baby's positioning. Wants me to just make sure I'm getting at least 10 movements within the hour after I eat lunch and dinner. Which I did feral at least 10 this morning after breakfast so I'm more at ease. Thanks for all the feedback
Another small tip is to massage your belly and shine a flash light on it. Works for me most of the time. Of course when In doubt call your doctor like everyone else said too.
Glad to hear that youre feeling the movements your doctor says you should. It's a good idea to time how long it takes you to get to ten movements (not just kicks, any movements) once a day and get to know your baby's norm, then in the future you will definitely know if something changes in his normal pattern. Drinking something cold usually works for me to get him moving when Im concerned.

I go through this question on the daily. I was so used to feeling her kick all the time earlier on in the pregnancy, but the kicking feels more like a "rolling" or "slithering" sensation now. I told this to my doctor and she smiled and nodded saying this was completely normal.

Me too. I've been through this many days. I got into the routine of feeling her pop-pop-pop kicks on my belly every day and it was concerning when that sensation stopped- and then YES it feels like rolling or slithering now. My doctor also told me this was normal.

I just read somewhere that baby's movements are most apparent weeks 24 thru 28, so seems like it would be normal to feel them less now. I agree with what others said about keeping track and mentioning it to dr if you're really concerned.
