Thoughts on the name Callie...

Finally!! Me and DH agreed we both liked Callie. I found Calista in a book and he disliked it but we both liked Callie. Is it ok as a stand alone name or do you think it's too 'nicknamey'?? Our last name also starts with a 'C' (a hard C, like Callie, not a soft C like charm), would this still go?

We looked at Calla too, but it's a bit too harsh with our last name. I liked it still cause it was also the flower we used on our wedding day. We are in Australia so I don't think many people would associate with California...could be wrong though

I think it is fine on it's own. We have friends who named their daughter Calli. We also know people who named their daughter Ali, not Allison. If you like it, go with it!

If you named her Catalina and nn Callie would people for sure think California? I like Catalina because it is in the same family name tree as my sisters name so i could use it to honor her
