Hi all- longtime lurker here. I'm 24 weeks along with my first. At my appointment this week, my OB mentioned in passing that I have a succenturiate placental lobe, which is a smaller second placenta attached to the larger placenta. She said it mostly causes issues when doctors aren't aware of it before birth and the second placenta isn't delivered, which leads to hemorrhage or infection. Otherwise, my pregnancy appears normal.
Has anyone else experienced this with a previous child, or also been diagnosed with this issue? I'm curious to hear your experiences! It looks like this is a pretty rare occurrence, so I'd love to feel like I'm not the only anomaly out there
