Abdomen Measuring Small but Everything Else Measuring Big

Last week at my 36 week scan, we saw that baby's head and arms/legs are big and measuring 39 weeks, but her abdomen is only measuring 34 weeks. The sonographer just said that means she's skinny and to eat more protein to fatten her up...but it seems like a big difference to me. Since I was just 36 weeks I didn't think much of her abdomen being a little small, but it seems odd that her head and everything else were measuring so big! Has anyone else seen this difference in size?

Nope.  But if the doctor/ultra sound tech isn't worried, I wouldn't be either.  If you're really worried, just follow her recommendation to eat more protein.  It sounds like the only thing you can really do at this point.

Yep! I'm 38 tomorrow and everything is measuring 36 except his abdomen... It's 31 no worries... Baby will be ok!

I had the opposite problem, everything was measuring normal except the abdomen was measuring about 4 weeks ahead! Doctor didn't seemed concerned about the differences, just said that he was a big baby. That was a few weeks ago, I think he may have evened out by now, it was probably just a growth spurt. Try not to worry, there's no harm in eating more protein as your doc advised!
