Bleeding gums?

My dd gums have been bleeding everytime I brush her teeth.  The bleeding is coming from her gums in areas where she already has teeth... so I don;t think it's teething related.  Everytime I brush her teeth I can tell she's in pain.  My husband took her to the dr. this morning and he forgot to mention the bleeding gums- which was my main reason for making the appt.  Ugh, so the dr looks in her mouth and says she's teething and thinks she has strep throat.  I already knew she was teething but the bleeding is not coming from where she's teething.  Anyway, anyone else ever have this happen?  I'm calling the dr. tomorrow morning to see about bringing her back in to show her where her gums are red and bleeding.  I just want to cry everytime i brush her teeth becasue she's in so much pain!!!  THANKS!

  • Oh no!! Strep throat?! Poor baby....  I think everyone has strep right now! Did she get the shot? She'll be good as new in a couple days.

Don't have an answer for ya on the bleeding gums though.

  • No shot, but she did prescribe an antibiotic.  My problem with her diagnosis of strep was that she didn;t even do a throat culture.  McKenna hasn;t had a fever either.  She saw a dr. she has never seen before and I hate to 2nd guess her but I have serious doubts it's strep.
  • No coulture?? Weird!! I'd take her to a different doc tomorrow.

  • Just got off the phone with the nurse at her pedis office and another dr. suggested that we take her to see a pediatric dentist now.  This visit is not going to be any fun at all!  I just don;t see how she'll sit there and let a dentist open her mouth to do the exam.
