Just curious! I'd been on birth control for more than 10 years. We stopped and got pregnant during my 2nd ovulation period. We were pretty shocked because we thought it would take a little longer but we are expecting our little Scarlett July 4th!
I was on birth control on and off (mostly on) for about 10 years. When I got off I didn't have a normal period I would go months with out a period and wouldn't think twice about it. Took 2 and a half years to get pregnant naturally.
I got pregnant with my first on the second ovulation and got my pregnant with this one in my 6th. I was on birth control up until we were ready to concieve both times.
Took the mirena out and was pregnant first cycle. I'm older (36) and overweight so I thought I'd have some time. Was speechless when it happened so soon.
On birth control for most of the last 12 years. Stopped taking it last January and was pregnant in October. DH works out of town and we see each other between 2 and 8 days each month, but we don't get to pick those days around my ovulation! : ). Given those circumstances, we're surprised it happened as soon as it did, though in October he was home a bit more than usual!
We decided to stop preventing in end of October/beginning of November, got my BFP while on our honeymoon on November 22nd. We were going to start seriously trying when we got back but got a pleasant surprise that it was so easy to get pregnant!
No birth control for 7 and 1/2 years. We weren't 100% ready I so we decided to wait to get any testing done until year 4. We took our time and did not rush the testing (it was expensive and we didnt feel like gettin into debt over testing) Then year 6 found out my tubes were 100% blocked and after they cleared them we waited another year...then did 3 rounds lf fertility. Then decided to give my body a break. 3 months later BAM got pregnant all on our own
We weren't trying. I was on bc, but had surgery and had been in the hospital during my period. I was taken by ambulance and wasn't able to get my bc for two days. I'd been on bc for 6 years without issue. They told me it would be okay and to follow the directions for missed pills. Didn't work for me . Found out a month later at a normal OB/gyn yearly apt. Needless to say, I left in shock.
No trying here either. I was on the pill took it like I was suppose to, hadn't missed any, wasn't on any antibiotic or anything. The only change was who I was dating. My bf got me pregnant the first month we were dating. I was completely shocked
First one that ended in a loss I had come off bc and fell straight away. Took us 5 cycles after, we didn't wait for period because doctors said it was ok to try straight away. 5 month seemed like a hell of a long wait but 5 trys in such a little window isn't that bad.
I hadn't been on hormonal birth control in 2 years, so I knew when we went to try that my cycles were fairly regular. I got pregnant the first time. I was shocked, husband said he knew this would happen
Never know how to answer that question, I usually get pg within 1-4 months, but sadly lose them. So we've been TTC2 for 2 years. During that time we had 3 losses (CP, 9w, 24w).

About 2 years ... Turns out my cycle isn't "average" and we weren't DTD at the right time. For the second one, 2 months.
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
Two years to get my first bfp. I had been on birth control about 7_8 years prior. Tried for two years did Clomid a few times nothing. After the Clomid it took about six months, bringing me just over 2 years of trying. Got the bfp the day after my.birth, July 11. Lost the baby in August. Then not longer after without actively trying we got our bfp with this sweet pea.
I had been on bc for 17 years. Honestly, I was pretty convinced it was going to take forever for me to get pregnant. I got pregnant on my third cycle! I was shocked and extremely thankful it happened so quickly for us.
Got pregnant accidentally with my first, then when DS was about 4 months old started trying again and it took over 18 months and three rounds of clomid. It's so strange to me that you can accidentally conceive without even trying then all of a sudden not be able to without fertility medication. Our bodies are incredible.
With all my babes we conceived the first go around. With this baby hubby literally said, "I will give you one shot. If it's God's will, It's God's will. If not, we are done." I wasn't even suppose to be ovulating, but we have a little due July 28.
I had a miscarriage in May 2014 I didn't even know I was pregnant dh told me to take a test I did and to my surprise I was than I lost the baby about two weeks later. So from June 2014 until when I found out in November we became bunny rabbits. It worked I must say though that this time was the longest ever it took me to get pregnant. I'm happy I am :x
I was also on birth control pills for 10 years and had recently stopped before I got pregnant . I would say at least 3 months, my boyfriend and I wanted a baby but didn't think it would happen so fast!
I was on bc for 8 years. Went off. Took 1.5 years to get pregnant. We stopped trying for a month because I was so stressed with work and trying. I drank a lot (I drank very very little while trying) and wasn't temping regularly. Got pregnant that month. We only had sex twice that month a day apart. Apparently I was in my fertility window. Baby is expected end of July, beginning of August.
I had been off birth control for about a year, but my husband was deployed. We got pregnant during the first ovulation of him being home. I was very surprised, because for some reason I thought it would take a lot more time, but then again I always hear about deployment babies!
Was between a month birth control break so that my OB could switch me from a BC that wasn't working right and trying a new one to see if it was better. Pretty sure I was pregnant the first day I didn't take the old pill. Definitely wasn't trying but very blessed and grateful. To all the women who had much heartache trying to get pregnant, you are such strong and amazing women! Congratulations!
I was on BCPs for 15 years, long history of cysts I thought it would be really hard for me to get pregnant. Came off BCPs in January, we pull and prayed from then until October (if we got pregnant earlier we would have been thrilled but october was ideal so I will be 6 1/2 months when I graduate my school program and not have to take a break) so officially started in October and got pregnant first try. I feel so blessed. I was also paleo (with dairy) since January it's supposed to help regulate ovulation. Really good for PCOS
My first took us 4 years, the night he came home from deployment we got pregnant. The 2nd took us another 3 years. Then I had 2 more back to back and #5 I got pregnant with 4 months after having #4.
This thread is making me super sad. I kind of hate this thread. This is kind of a thread that makes those of us who had lots of difficultly getting pregnant feel like crap.
Re: Just curious. How long did you try before becoming pregnant?
He told me he was going to get me pregnant on the first try.
He was wrong, it happened during my second ovulation
Mother of 4 beautiful babies - soon to be 5!
