One nap a day

Everyone's LO on just one nap a day now? DD has been for about two months now. It's hard because she doesn't want to go down until eleven and she is crazy tired. Then she wakes up around one or one thirty. With her not taking a nap again the rest of the day it is a struggle to keep her up past 6 p.m. She still wakes up once per night to have a sippy cup of milk. Confused with different sleeping schedule lately

Re: One nap a day

  • We're still on two naps.  Perhaps your LO isn't quite ready for just one nap?  DS goes through phases where he'll refuse a nap here and there, but overall most days he still takes two.  This probably isn't very helpful for you, sorry!

  • My LO is in a similar situation. She sleeps from 7pm to 8 am, and has a nap from 12:30ish until 3.

Some days she wants to go to bed at 6 and we let her. She doesn't wake up through out the night though.
  • DS was on a 1 nap a day but then he got sick with RSV and switched back to 2 but he's finally recovering now and back to 1 but he is not sleeping well at night. Might still be the RSV residual though. (Can take 4 weeks to get over it)

  • Yes, my 13-month old daughter takes one a nap a day or no nap at all! I put her to bed at 10:30 pm, and she will get up at around 10 am, and sometimes earlier.
  • We're typically still at 3 naps a day.  Sometimes she fights a nap so I don't force it, just play it by ear.  Let LO tell you what they need.
