Possible IUGR

Today I had an ultrasound at 26 weeks and my baby is measuring 3 weeks behind. The doctor didn't specify IUGR yet. However, after leaving the appointment in an anxiety stricken depression, my husband and I did some research regarding this diagnosis. It seems as though I may be facing this diagnosis next week with my follow up ultrasound. Has anyone had experience with this and/or had a successful outcome? Thank you in advance.

We had severe iugr and LO is perfectly fine. She was born at 35 weeks 3 pounds 10 ounces. All it means is that you will likely deliver a bit early and the baby will have LO birh weight.

Ok. Thank you for the response. Did they do biophysical profiling with your baby? Another mom had mentioned it and my sisters friend also had it done since her baby was measuring small.

Ok. When did they start doing the BPP? I am about 25 weeks and so I'm wondering if it's too early to start this. I'm following up with my doc tomorrow. I just figured hearing from women who have had it would help ease my mind a bit.

My daughter has IUGR.  She is almost 3 weeks behind (we are currently 34 weeks).  We have another growth scan next week in addition to monitoring and bios three times a week (which we started around 28 weeks).  We are likely inducing between 37-39 weeks, and the OB believes she will be just fine - just little. I have heard many stories of IUGR that were positive.  Don't worry just yet.  FX that all goes well for you.

@ikrystal‌ thanks! My doctor called last night and said we will start BPP at 32 weeks. She recommended a high protein diet and increased fluids because my amniotic fluid is low and my weight gain has not been enough. She also explained that my problem is that my placenta previa doesn't allow for good vascularization to the baby because it's not implanted in a muscle, it's sitting over my cervix instead. Therefore, the baby may not be getting the nutrients I'm ingesting. Anyway, I at least have answers and they are watching me week to week. So, we'll see what happens next week!

My son had iugr. He was born at 34 weeks, 3lbs 2oz. He spent 4 weeks in the nicu and came home at 4lbs. He's now 10 months old and perfectly healthy. But he's still small (in the 1st percentile). They dicovered the iugr at 30 weeks and i had ultrasounds 2xweek and biophysical 1x week. Its tough to deal with but im sure your lo will be healthy.
