Vaginal delivery after c-section?

Any thoughts and experiences with having a vaginal delivery after a prior c-section? I had my son almost 5 years ago and After inducing for 3 days it ended in a c-section. I know every pregnancy is different but I fear if I need to be induced again I will have the same fate and never go into labor.

Personally, I would rather have a scheduled repeat c-section than have to be induced again. Pitocin is hell IMO. I am really hoping to go into labor on my own this time and have a VBAC but if I don't, I have a repeat c-section scheduled. I have had 2 already. The first time around, I was induced and labored for 23 hours and pushed for 3. It resulted in a c-section and I was so sore/tired after all of it that I don't even remember my son's first few days. With my 2nd, I had a scheduled c-section and it honestly wasn't bad at all. Of course it is major surgery and there are risks involved, but for me, recovery #2 was a breeze compared to #1.
