Re: second and third trimester discussion
I spent this morning in L&D. I have very bad swelling but no other symptoms of pre-e. For those that don't know, I have a below knee amputation and my swelling is getting so bad that it's very difficult to put on my prosthesis
This is how things started with my son - out of control swelling led to a c-section at 36w5days. I was told not to eat out (which I haven't this year) or eat processed foods, which I do a couple of times per week, but not.excessively, so we will see what happens.

@smcniff I did have a moment today where.I thought, I could find out and just not tell anyone. But then I thought, wait, I am the biggest proponent of Tram Green, why am I selling myself out?
@MoreThanSparrows08 my nesting instinct left around 28 weeks. It's awesome you have all those meals ready! Fx you go into labor on your own!
@blueyedgirl26 honestly don't know whether or not to recommend clases. 12 hours seems excessive to me. I guess knowing your hospital procedure and policies would/could be helpful. But with the internet, do you really need someone to teach you this stuff? Also, you have PAL people you can reach out to. When I was 19, I was my BFF's birthing coach and we had to take a Lamaze/parenting class. I learned a lot in the Lamaze part and the physiology/physicality (is that the right word?) Of the birthing process for mom and baby, but a lot of it seemed like common sense. I wouldn't take the class, but I am lazy and don't want to be out of the house at 9.30 at night.

@Megdowntheshore thanks! I didn't think to look elsewhere besides the hospital. Infant CPR was on my list of things to look into too. Let me know how it goes if you decide to take it at BRU.

17 weeks tomorrow and still dealing with morning sickness...ugh! Anatomy scan is the 28th and I'm so excited to see this baby!
I've been having a hell of a time sleeping comfortably lately. I've tried a body pillow and regular pillows in different positions and I just can't get comfortable. I'm constantly rolling from side to side and probably driving DH crazy. I don't know what else to try.
@footprint I'm glad that baby is looking good. I would think that they would love the c-section date up, 2/17 is a long way away.
@MoreThanSparrows08 lots of vibes that labor starts soon and you can meet you sweet baby!
@BluEyedGirl26 I took a class with DS and I thought it was great. It was put on through our hospital. It was 6:30-9:30 also, but only for 2 days. I'm an information gatherer by nature so it helped me feel better heading into labor, delivery, and a newborn.
@heathersf11 no experience with acid reflux, but I hope you feel better soon!
@CreechMommy sounds like RLP to me too. I get it pretty often and I basically just have to freeze until it goes away, it's super painful. My OB said it should get less frequent as my uterus gets bigger and can't move from side to side so much and pull on the ligaments.

@footprint - Hope the swelling doesn't get too bad! I'm sure you've heard all the tips. Sorry you're having a rough time. ((hugs))
@MoreThanSparrows08 - Hope the baby comes soon. I've definitely heard it's much easier to be med-free if you haven't been induced. Congrats on having those meals frozen!
@heathersf11 - I'm with you on the reflux and cough! I've actually spent the morning in tears because of this reflux thing. I ate little last night, waited the right amount of time before bed, and I still got it bad enough to keep me awake. Then I ended up STARVING, but didn't want to get up and eat bc I knew I'd just get more reflux. It's honestly ruining my life a bit--I can't sleep, so I'm not getting work or exercise done (and my favorite exercise, yoga, is impossible bc of the upside down time), I can't eat well, I'm not drinking my water like I'm supposed to, nor am I taking my prenatals, and I'm tired and cranky all the time. I can't figure out what my triggers are, so I've been trying to find recipes that avoid the usual problems:
1) Low acid
2) Not too fatty/rich (I have suspicions nuts are a problem)
3) Not spicy
4) Vegetarian
5) High protein
And I'm drawing a total blank! I'd really like to "eat clean" for a few days to see if I can reset, but I can't even figure out step 1.
Sorry. I guess that turned into a rant. (Need that blushing emoticon here, but it's broken.) My midwife wants me to try to manage this without meds first, and I like that idea, but I'm totally failing.
@Creechmommy - Definitely RLP. Avoid sudden movements, and pull your legs in if it comes. Mine's gotten a lot better, too.
@Natalie115 - Sorry, I'm clearly not going to be helpful about sleep. LOL Good luck with your a/s!

*~*~* All AL Welcome*~*~*
I’m always behind on this post J Well I’ll be 40 weeks in 2 days and it looks like if she doesn’t come, we are going to schedule induction for Sunday. It’s nice to have an end in sight but I don’t know if I can do another full three days of work – it’s not like I’m doing anything productive – I might as well be in my recliner J I just realized this will be my last week posting to this thread!!!!! This is a great thread and I really got a lot out of it!
Sending you lots of T&P’s @footprint – hope the swelling goes down. But it’s definitely good news that you have no other signs of pre-e.
@morethansparrows I hear ya – it’s time for our babies to get here. And all of my energy is gone – now if I do too much, it’s painful.
@blueyedgirl26 We did a one day class (I think it was scheduled for 8 but we were done at like 6) at the hospital that pretty much gave us a tour of the hospital, ran us through hospital procedures, explained what we could expect for induction or c-section and went over some breathing techniques. I thought it was informative (I especially liked knowing how the process works – it makes it easier for me) but DH thought it was too much information thrown at him. I am now regretting not signing up for class that goes over what happens once we get the kid home.
@heathersf11 Oh I’m sorry that you are feeling so lousy L I hope you mend soon.
@creechmommy Definitely sounds like round ligament pain – ouch.
@natalie115 Yay for a/s – best of luck on the 28th!
@pblge Wow that reflux sounds awful! I really hope that you can find something that works for you – whether it be diet or meds. Feel better soon!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced an increase in muscle soreness with even just moderate workouts such as walking and light lifting. For a few days after a workout, I feel very sore in my groin/upper inner thigh area, my lower abs/belly my belly, and just generally all over. When I get out of bed in the I feel like I just did a marathon, but luckily that feeling goes away after I move around a bit.
Anyone start experiencing this in second or third tri??
