Trouble TTC

So frustrated with my "ovulation", need some good advice.

Hey everyone,
I just want to start by saying HELLO again, I feel like i haven't been on forever even though I log on nearly everyday to see what everyone is up to. Seems like things are changing a lot on TB and I'm not sure how much I'm liking it...
So I'm having a little trouble this cycle, I went in to see RE on day 13 after taking a higher dose of letrozole (7.5 mg) and my u/s revealed 1 follicle and RE assured me that I would O in what she guessed was 4-5 days from then. Well, that was last Monday and I have yet to get a positive OPK test. In the past I have ovulated on day 21 or 22, but I assumed since she was guessing around CD 18 it would be earlier this time. Is it possible she was off in her estimation? I know that this might be a dumb question but is it possible the follicle formed but will just stay that way and not release the egg? I'm so frustrated with every negative that I get that I am slipping back into my old ways of crying every time because I think I'm never going to be a mom.
Sidenote: I am taking tests at the same time every evening, around 6 pm.

Re: So frustrated with my "ovulation", need some good advice.

  • So sorry for your frustration. My thought would be to call the nurse and see what they say. It's absolutely possible not to O and the follicle turn into a cyst. If this is the case, then you can be given a trigger shot to help with O. I hope that all made sense. FX that you to get your surge soon and this is THE cycle!

  • Unfortunately I have to agree with everyone. You can grow a follicule that does not release. Call your doctor, maybe if things don't work out this cycle (I hope they do) you can start trigger shots to help !
    TTC since September 2013.
    History:
-anovulatory from 2/2014-8/2014. Used provera prescribed by GYN to induce bleeding.
    -9/2014- 1st appointment with REI
-9/2014-11/2014-two cycles of Femara, one unmedicated cycle. Femara stopped due to side effects.
    -12/2014-clomid & ovidrel= BFN
-1/2015- started cycle #2 of clomid (50 mg), went for mid cycle scan twice and follicles were not responding as hoped. Started on mid cycle climbed 100mg for 5 more days.
  • Thanks for all your awesome answers guys. I called RE and they said they're confident the gg will release but if it doesn't by the end of the week I need to come in. GRRR why can't something just work out for once!!!??? >:(
