So we took the pludge and started cloth diapering. Today is day one. I am so over disposable diapers!! Any advice for a newly fluffed butt would be appreciated or let's see some baby fluff!
I need to jump in now too!! I think you may have inspired me. I don't know why I'm so intimidated. I have everything I need. I think its the poop!! Haha!
The poop scares me too. So we got some disposable liners to help with that. What really intimidates me is washing the diapers. Some websites make it seem so complicated!

I have totally changed what I was doing thanks to "Fluff Love & CD Science" facebook page. My diapers have never been so clean, and the rashes we've been battling from the get go are now gone! I'd highly recommend joining .
Welcome to cloth!
realized I'm seriously lacking in fluff pictures! I guess that's what happens when it's no longer summer....

We love adding BG fleece liners in our Moraki diapers. The poo falls off into the toilet no scrapping or spraying needed. We do choose to spray with shout but that's just cause I don't want to risk stains. I love my fresh clean cloth diapers. Tide and oxyclean in hot water works for us. Welcome to cloth!
Poop really isn't a big deal. It sounds more intimidating than it actually is. After you do it a couple times it truly is nbd. We have been CDing for 9 months now with no major issues so I am happy with the decision to CD. Get a sprayer or make one. DH bought stuff to make a sprayer and never did, so I just plop the ploppable poop in the toilet and rinse the diaper with the ulility sink in the basement (which has a really hard water pressure) if I need to, then throw it in a wetbag I have next to the sink. Pretty easy.

How you wash your diapers depends a lot on how hard your water is and the type of machine you have. We have a front loader. My water is pretty hard. We have a softener but it's still hard after being softened. All I do is throw 2-3 days worth of diapers in the washer and do a rinse, then I add my detergent (I use original Tide up to line 2 on the scoop) and do a regular wash set with an extra rinse at the end. I've never not had a diaper get clean.
ETA I have a top loader, not front. My brain stopped working earlier I guess.

We have a front loader washing machine. We do a short cold wash with no detergent, followed by a hot wash with extra rinse with a scoop of detergent. We also use Tide. DS was cloth diapered until he potty trained just before age 3. DD is also CD'd. We've had no problems with this washing method.

I've cloth diapered both kids. DS1 potty trained at 2.5yo and the poop was never a big deal. His never seemed to get to the ploppable stage, and I didn't want a sprayer (sounded like a mess) so I just swished them in the toilet until the poop was off. I used to think that was a really gross way to do things and I'd never do it that way, but trying to use a spatula to scrape poop off ended up being a way bigger pain for me.
