PgAL check-in 1/19

This is the weekly check in for Moms due in April that have previously experienced a loss.

Welcome to the check-in! I hope I have included everyone that expressed interest. If you missed the last thread feel free to jump right in and help us get to know you. I look forward to the support we can share over the next 9 months. This road is not easy, it helps to have each other to lean on! In case you need a mantra refresher you can find those HERE.

Let us know:

Pregnancy Loss Background (if this is your first time on the check-in):

EDD:

Gestation in weeks/fruit:

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?

Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby?

Re: PgAL check-in 1/19

  • EDD: 4/4

    Gestation in weeks/fruit: 29w2d

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?
It's been a stressful week. My car broke down on Wed and then DH's car was hit in a parking lot on Sat. I failed my GD screening and took the 3 hour on Sat, so hopefully I'll get the results today. Also I miscarried on 1/25/14, so the anniversary is coming up this week.

    Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:
I had a surprise u/s on Fri to check cervical length, 3.5cm so at least that's good.

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby? I was 7lbs 3oz. When I started growing, I was a peanut. I'm still short.
DH was huge. Born with a skull fracture and separated clavicle. He few fast, too. His Mom always says the drs would tell her "You know he's not supposed to be this big, right?"

  • Hi, I'm new to TBC and to the PGAL
Board. Sorry if its TMI, still getting a feel for the culture of this board.

Pregnancy loss background: previous mtp due to anencephaly (fatal skull malformation) caught around 13 weeks. After 2+ years of TTC and then IVF, here I am!

    EDD: 4/27

Gestation in weeks: 26 (feels really really good to write that out!)

    How I am feeling:
Physically: the best I've felt all pregnancy. I have the elusive *glow* :)
Emotionally: a bit of a train wreck really. Back in therapy for anxiety. Taking time off work to reduce stress triggers. Have a super supportive DH and family/ friends but anxiety still gets the better of me at times, I'm afraid :( have just started beginner spanish classes, so hopefully that keeps my mind working in a positive way :)

    Upcoming appointments and milestones:
Had a check last week and baby and mama look fine :) have an appointment with the prenatal dietician to address my sugars (hba1c of 4.4 which is low). Dreading saturday because I have a prenatal class on fetal brain development :(:(

GTKY: was a bonny 7.5 lb baby delivered by my grandma's sister (who is an ob/gyn so it wasnt as rustic as it sounds!). DH was 7lbs, ran over 40 weeks, and was almost born in the car en route to the hospital on a freezing NJ winter morning.

GL and a good week to all!

    Can't get the tags today...
@fourthtimesacharm -  thank you for starting this thread, I was really hoping it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle.  Sorry about your cars!  Sounds like a hassle.  Hope the GD testing went well this time!

@bananaboat05 - Hope you continue to feel better!  Sick is never good.

@smish82 - Welcome, and sorry for your loss.  Hope the stress & anxiety calm down for you.

    EDD: April 10
    Gestation in weeks/fruit: 28 weeks, 3 days - Eggplant

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?  Well the winter got me yesterday.  My first step outside I fell on some ice.  It wasn't terrible, thankfully, but now I have a scraped up knee and a sore wrist.  I honestly don't know how it wasn't worse, I was carrying our dog too.  But at least now I get out of taking her for morning walks if it's rainy or snowy.
Emotionally-  I'm feeling attached to this little guy.  I'm already worrying about him, ie- does he have enough room in there?  We've got nearly all the major stuff, bed, carseat, stroller.  And I'm really looking forward to the baby shower, Feb 8th.

Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:  I have my 28wk appt this afternoon.  Excited to see the little guy & get the results from my GD test.

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby?
I was 2 weeks late, and I think I was just over 7lbs?  DH was only a few days late and he was 6 lbs 5 oz.
  • @BananaBoat05‌ I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Sending healthy thoughts your way that you're back to 100% soon.

@smish82‌ welcome to the board and I'm sorry about your previous loss.

@lovemaddux‌ Sending healing thoughts your way. I'm glad it was just your wrist and knee.
  • @tupelohoneybee‌ I've had feelings like I've emotionally checked out too. I think it's my coping mechanism. Big hugs, few more months we'll all be bonding with our LO's
  • Thanks for starting this post.

    EDD: 4/13

    Gestation in weeks/fruit: 28 - eggplant

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?
Found out that I have GD and am now testing and trying to keep my levels within normal range. I feel guilty and sad about the GD and am really hoping that I don't have to be put on medication.

    Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:
I met with the dietician this morning to learn about how many carbs I can have. I won't see my dr until the end of the month unless my sugar levels are out of whack.

GTKY: I weighed 4 lbs 6 oz at birth. I was a preemie. Thankfully I caught up and didn't suffer from any other complications from being born at 34 weeks.

Hugs to everyone who's had a rough week.

Hope you pass your test @fourthtimesacharm‌.

Hope you're feeling normal again soon @BananaBoat05‌.

    Welcome @smish82‌.

    Have a great week, everyone!
  • Thanks everyone for warm welcome! GL with the various GD tests, and @BananaBoat05‌ and @lovemaddux‌, hope you get better soon.

Hi everyone. First time posting on this thread.

    Pregnancy Loss Background:
Lost my first pregnancy at 8 weeks.

    EDD: 4/8

    Gestation in weeks/fruit:
This is my second pregnancy and I'm at 28 weeks

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?

Physically, I'm pretty tired, but not in much pain. Emotionally, I waver between finally believing that I'm going to have this baby and not believing it until he's in my arms crying.

    Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:
Just had the 1 hour GD test and I'm hoping that I passed.

Weight: I was premature by a few weeks. I weighed somewhere around 5lbs.

I hope everyone has a healthy week.

  • EDD: April 12

Gestation in weeks/fruit: 28 weeks, eggplant

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?
I found out I failed the 1 hour glucose test with 144. I've been freaking out ever since about the possibility of having GD. I know it's not the end of the world, but I'm so worried and guilty about it. I also found out I'm anemic. I've been feeling lightheaded and fatigued this weekend, which has made me more concerned about the 3 hour test.

    Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:
I have the 3 hour glucose tolerance test on Friday morning. I'm just feeling so nervous.

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby?
I was 6 lbs 15 oz when I was born. I was pretty average growing up. I was always pretty tall though, which is strange given that I'm only 5'2" now.

  • Hey ladies,
    I'm jumping back in

Pregnancy Loss Background (if this is your first time on the check-in):
Been a while so, in summary I had a DD who was born still at 36w5d on March 2nd, 2013. They found no reason for her death after a healthy normal pregnancy. We tried for a year and a half to get pregnant with our rainbow.

    EDD: 4/22, but having a c-section on 4/2.

Gestation in weeks/fruit: 26 weeks, I think thats an eggplant I'm not sure?

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? pregnancy related, fine. Some hip pain. I've been fighting a cold and feel like crap. Emotionally ok. Trying to get stuff ready as I have ten weeks until we meet the little man! Yikes!

Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: I am doing weekly OB apts and ultrasounds now, due to being high risk because of my daughter. I am glad for the extra monitoring! I am also doing my GTT this week. I will be happy once I am in the third trimester!

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby? I was only 5lbs4oz. My angel DD was 5lbs11oz (at 36 weeks) and my husband was 5lbs. So, we are all peanuts. I assume my rainbow will be close to 5-6lbs since he will also be coming early. I was small until I reached 5/6, then I started packing on the weight. I've pretty much been overweight since. I've gotten to the point that I don't care as much about how I look, and am just focused on being healthy.

  • @snowbigdeal‌ so sorry about the stomach bug. My whole family and extended family was hit hard by it over Xmas and it was awful! I was a few hours from being sent to the ER for an IV, but luckily was able to start holding down fluid. That bug is no joke. Glad you're feeling better!

    @shandorfml2‌ welcome back!

@snowbigdeal‌ thank you for your kind words. I hope that stomach bug is gone for good.

  • HI Guise  :-h

I am late to the party... as usual. Can I come back and play?

@fourthtimesacharm I am so sorry for your crummy week... when it rains it pours! Hope you get all the car things straightened out and Ill be thinking of you on your loss date. They definitely come up and take you by surprise. When my first came, I struggled, the second is coming up in February but I am definitely feeling different towards it at this point. ((hugs)) all the same though.

@bananaboat05 glad you are feeling better and your fever has gone away!

    @smish82 welcome!

@lovemaddux so glad your fall wasnt worse! I live in Michigan so I get the "being over winter" thing.... I am so sick of snow and ice!... and its only January.

@tupelohoneybee I get the checkout! I have felt that off and on especially when things have gotten complicated with the pregnancy. coping mechanism? protecting myself? who knows. I know when she gets here things will be completely different so I have really just been trying to focus on that! ((hugs)) hope your last tri flies by!

@buckyc good luck with your testing and GD stuff! hoping you can bypass meds!

@julialovespugs welcome! so sorry for your previous loss.

@cf101009 sorry about your GD test. GL with the 3 hour!

@lindseyanne14 hoping the 3tri exhaustion holds off for you!

@shandorfml12 I cant beleive its getting so close for you! thinking of you as this all winds down!

@qwanda2013 I hope you kick that cold's ass! GL with the new OB!

@snowbigdeal so sorry for you visit to L&D, but glad that you felt that it helped you with revisiting the hospital prior to birth. Hoping all the sickness is cleared!

    AFM:

I have been off and on when it comes to being on the bump. I am really trying to get back into bumping because I miss my homies.

    EDD: 4/19/15
    Gestation in weeks/fruit: 27ish

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?  Physically I am exhausted. This whole pregnancy has been completely a mind fluck and a roller coaster. We have had multiple 2nd trimester bleeds and scares, and one ER visit. Yesterday I had  some light bleeding and had to go into the OB because apparently I was describing multiple pre-term labor. So we went in and they ran some tests, felt my cervix and decided to send me down for an U/S. ( I originally had one scheduled for Friday, so they moved it to yesterday). Anywho... long story short she is head down and pushing her head on the exit chute.... which they said explains the intense pressure I have had since Friday. My cervix is still long, but I have to go back Monday to see if it is starting to shorten as she is putting pressure there. She was extremely stubborn and didnt want to take pictures, but she is measuring 2lbs and was opening and closing her eyes. At this point they will just monitor me and asked me to try to monitor any BH and the pressure intensity. Emotionally, fine... more just coming to terms that I have 13 weeks or less to meet this little lady trying to head butt her way out of me!

Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: Monday is a followup to recheck the cervical length and whatnot.

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby?  I was long and skinny... which is weird because I am no where near tall. I was allegedly 2 weeks late, due on June 30, born July 10 after 36 hrs of induced labor... and weighed 7 lbs 6 oz, 21 inches (attribute some of that length to the cone head I sported due to the forceps). Hubby was 7lbs 6 oz too... but he was only 19 in and born right on schedule.

  • EDD: April 1...but my c-section date was just set for March 25.

    Gestation in weeks/fruit: 29 weeks, 6 days.

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? Physically just tired, not sleeping well at all.

Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: Started my weekly BPP's last week. So annoying going in every week for appointments, but I do get to see baby on ultrasound, so that is an added perk. ;)

GTKY: So many weight posts this week on the bump! So...how much did you weigh when you were born? When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby? I am adopted, so I have no idea. However I was always skinny and short growing up, so I assume I was a peanut.

  • Thinking of you, @jlworden710. I hope they find that she has shifted up higher. Would this be a case where a spinning babies inversion would help? Sometimes if L feels super low I will put my butt up high like a dung beetle and it's enough to scoot her toward my ribs. I don't know if that's helpful at this stage in the game but it might be worth a try?

@qwanda2013 my chiro gave me some positions yesterday to try when she is feeling really low.... hoping those will help scoot her up. The head butts to the cervix are getting to be a bit painful at times.

  • @jlworden710‌ hope you get some relief.

@Ashgal‌ weekly appointments are annoying but at least they are keeping a close eye on you and your LO!
  • @jlworden710‌ hope those moves from the chiro work for you!
  • EDD: 4/10

    Gestation in weeks/fruit: eggplant

How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?
I keep getting horrible cramps in my legs and hips at night. They wake me up every 2 hrs to the point where im almost in tears. My belly feels like it's so heavy that it's going to fall off my body. Lol. And emotionally I am getting less nervous since I have passed the gestation I had my little angel at last pregnancy.

    Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:
My 30 week visit is on the 30th and I'm very excited.

How much did you weigh when you were born?
    6 lbs

When you started growing were you a peanut, average, or a chubby baby?
    I was always a peanut.
